With all this fantastic countryside, historic towns and iconic landmarks, Warwickshire is a wonderful place to get married. Our 2025 Wedding Report found that Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands region is where 9% of all UK weddings take place, which is an increase of 1% on the previous year. More than four out of every five (83%) local couples choose to stay in the area for their wedding, which shows just how much the county offers. The average cost of a wedding in the region is £18,738, which is more than £2,000 less than couples pay on average in the UK, at £20,822.
So, if you’re looking for your wedding day to be filled with local history and lovely landscapes, and you’re hoping to pay less, you really can’t go wrong by getting married in Warwickshire.
Warwickshire’s amazing history and diverse influences have led to a rise in fusion weddings, where couples from different cultural backgrounds blend traditions to create a celebration that reflects their heritage. A trend making a strong comeback in Warwickshire is vintage-style photography, with couples opting for film over digital to capture their wedding day. Outdoor weddings are another big trend in Warwickshire, with couples in the region spending an average of £6,600 on a marquee, which is significantly higher than the UK average of £4,532. In fact, Warwickshire sees higher spending on outdoor wedding setups than any other region, showing just how much open-air celebrations are growing in popularity, thanks in part to Warwickshire’s stunning rural locations.
Warwickshire is home to some of the UK’s most spectacular wedding venues, from world-famous castles to luxurious stately homes and something with a little character.
There’s nowhere more famous in Warwickshire than Warwick Castle, a site with almost 1,000 years of history built by William the Conqueror, and once home to King Henry VIII – it’s the ultimate venue in the county. But, for something a little less grand (well, only just) but still just as luxurious, there are plenty of stately homes and manor houses around Warwickshire that are still fit for royalty. Bourton Hall Wedding Venue is pristine and elegant, with incredible views over the nearby valley. Nailcote Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club is a gorgeous 17th-century country house which has its own par-3 golf course. Mallory Court Country House Hotel and Spa lets you be pampered in more ways than one and is set within expertly tended grounds. Then there’s Billesley Manor Hotel, a 16th-century manor house just a few miles from historic Stratford-upon-Avon.
Of course, with so much fantastic countryside all over Warwickshire, if you’d like to get married during the warmer summer months, there are plenty of outdoor venues to choose from. When we said some venues have a little character, we meant it… literally! The Royal Shakespeare Theatre is the ideal way to include some amazing history in your wedding, where actors like Laurence Olivier and Daniel Day-Lewis have trodden the boards. Another great way to honour local history in your big day is with Lord Leycester Hospital, a 600-year-old timber-framed Guildhall right around the corner from Warwick Castle. There’s also the award-winning art gallery, Compton Verney, and Warwick Racecourse, which are perfect for making your wedding day one to remember.
As the county is one of the most affordable in the UK for a wedding, you won’t be surprised to hear that there are also loads of venues that are suitable if you have a smaller budget. Venues such as The Saxon Mill, Weston Hall Hotel and The Court House are all absolutely wonderful and should be high on your list of considerations.
The average cost of a wedding venue in Warwickshire is £5,818, which is more-or-less in line with the overall UK average of £5,945. However, there are plenty of savings to be made elsewhere, which is why it’s such a great location if you’re conscious of not spending too much on your wedding.
As one of the most popular wedding destinations in the West Midlands, Warwickshire’s top venues book up quickly. If you’re looking to get married in the area, you’ll need to secure your venue at least 12 to 18 months in advance, or potentially even longer if you’re looking to tie the knot during the busy summer wedding season or at some point over a weekend.
However, if you're flexible with your date and venue, you may be able to book a midweek or off-peak wedding within 6 to 12 months, and save a little bit of money too, since there’s generally less competition.
Warwickshire’s central UK location means its climate is much the same as the rest of the country – which means warm summers and cold winters. That being said, the weather can sometimes do its own thing, but each season is often fairly dependable and offers something different.
Spring (March – May) is a beautiful time for a wedding in Warwickshire, with emerging flowers and lush greenery in parks like Burton Dassett Hills Country Park and Ryton Pools Country Park. Temperatures range from 9°C – 16°C (48°F – 61°F), but occasional rain showers are possible, so make sure you plan with unpredictable weather in mind.
Summer (June – August) is the most popular time to get married in Warwickshire, with long daylight hours and warm temperatures (18°C – 24°C / 64°F – 75°F). This is the best time for outdoor weddings at venues like Blackwell Grange and Curradine Barns, which really showcase what the county has to offer.
Autumn (September – November) brings gorgeous golden scenery and cool mornings, with temperatures ranging from 10°C – 18°C (50°F – 64°F). It’s a great time for a cosy and intimate wedding, especially in one of the county’s many manor houses.
Winter (December – February) is perfect for a warm and welcoming wedding, perhaps even leaning into the festive season with twinkling decorations and roaring fireplaces. Temperatures range from 2°C – 8°C (36°F – 46°F), so indoor venues are a must, such as Ragley Hall and The Falcon Hotel.
Warwickshire is one of the most accessible wedding locations in the UK, with fantastic transport links for guests travelling from across the country, whether coming from the north, south or west or in from Wales.
The M40, M42 and M6 motorways make it easy to reach Warwickshire by car. Birmingham International Airport (BHX) is just a short drive away, providing flights to and from major UK and international cities.
For those travelling by train, Warwickshire is nice and easy to get to, with direct routes to London, Birmingham, Manchester and further afield. Major train stations in the county include Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon and Rugby. You can catch a direct train from London Marylebone to Warwick, which takes about an hour and a quarter.
Warwickshire has plenty of accommodation options, so no matter what type of place your guests like to stay, they shouldn’t have any trouble, including luxury spa hotels, cosy B&Bs and all the well-known chains. Many hotels also have their own event venues, so you can have the wedding of your dreams without the need to spend half your day travelling.
