Welcome to Dovecote Events, a family-run, exclusive wedding venue in rural Oxfordshire. With stunning views of rolling hills, rivers and fields, if a country wedding is what you’re after, you simply can’t beat this idyllic venue. Dovecote Barn, a Grade II listed building that is full of character and charm featuring exposed brickwork and oak beams, has been lovingly restored and licensed for civil weddings, partnership ceremonies and the renewal of vows. With it's naturally beautiful appearance, the barn is set to be the perfect backdrop to your special day. In summer months, surrounded by serene countryside and under the canopy of giant lime trees, The Paddock is now available for ceremonies to take place outdoors. For something extra special, Dovecote Events is the proud owner of a five-hat giant Tipi, the most wonderful setting for your very own festival-style wedding. The hire of Dovecote Barn for your ceremony and drinks reception is also included in the tipi price! With a history of providing delicious catering we also provide all wedding catering in-house, saving you the efforts of searching for your own. We have a selection of sumptuous menus available or can provide bespoke menus if you have something a little different in mind. Whatever you choose, we’d love to meet with you both to discuss making your special day one to remember!

Dovecote Barn and The Tipi have individual venue prices which both vary between days of the week and months of the year.
For both venues, the price includes hiring Dovecote Barn for your ceremony. Prices are also inclusive of VAT. See below everything else that is included in the hire price for each venue:
For pricing ranges from 2025 to 2026:
Dovecote Barn hire ranges from £3,950 to £6,150 (for tipi pricing, please see below). Included with Dovecote Barn ceremony and receptions:
• Hire of Dovecote Barn for your wedding ceremony
• Exclusive use of the venue on your chosen date
• Free daytime corkage (applies to single welcome drink, wedding breakfast wine and single toast drink)
• Exclusive use of surrounding outdoor courtyard, lawns and paddock for drinks reception and photographs
• Stylish bar area with fully stocked and staffed bar right up until midnight
Tipi hire ranges from £9,050 to £12,250. Included with Tipi receptions:
• Hire of Dovecote Barn for your wedding ceremony and adjacent stylish bar area for your
drinks reception
• Exclusive use of whole venue including outdoor courtyard, lawns and paddock for drinks reception and photographs
• Exclusive use of the tipi the day prior to your wedding to set up your decorations
• Free daytime corkage (applies to single welcome drink, wedding breakfast wine and single
toast drink)
• Wooden flooring throughout the tipi and a wooden walkway to the entrance
• Fairy lights on all wooden poles inside and uplighters and festoon lights outside
• Five tipis interlinked with weatherproofed canvas and panoramic windows
• Fully stocked and staffed bar within the tipi
• Fire pits and wooden benches
The Paddock is available to hire for outdoor ceremonies between early May and early October. It is an additional £375 to hire The Paddock for your outdoor ceremony.

Matt, Mel and the rest of the team were always there to help with recommendations and answer our questions, they were great at listening to our ideas and accommodating these for our big day. The venue itself was everything we could have wished for, it is a beautiful setting which allowed us to have a small and intimate ceremony and wedding breakfast followed by a bigger celebration in the evening. The outside areas were a brilliant place for the drinks reception and provided a beautiful backdrop of autumnal colours for us to capture some moments with our dog. The food throughout the day was amazing and it was fantastic to have the opportunity to taste our options beforehand. We couldn’t just choose one dessert for our day, so chose 3! Our guests were full of compliments. The no corkage policy is also an amazing addition. We had the most unforgettable day and would highly recommend Dovecote to any couples planning their wedding. The friendly welcome, tasty canapés & a glass of fizz set the scene for what was to become our best day ever. The whole process from start to finish was easy and fun, no question was too silly and no request was too difficult. When it came to deciding on food we didn’t make it easy with lots of special dietary requests but Chef and the team dealt with it all and on the day we had so many compliments on the menu. We had an incredible day and really couldn’t have asked for anything more, the venue was just right for us, the whole team were wonderful. Matt, Mel, and all the team have a really keen eye for detail and are so supportive with ideas you have to see how they can make it work. Tom, the designer and lead builder of the Teepee and EVERYTHING else is a wizard! You see it, he designed it! The final product of this venue is outstanding, and we had so many options of how we could utilise it all for our day. You have not just amazing venues to utilise, but the scenery had our photographer and videographer VERY excited, with the finished product of their work producing some magical shots for us. Every step of the day was meticulous, and they are so attentive on keeping things aside (THE INCREDIBLE FOOD) to ensure you get to enjoy every part of the day. Not one but if stress and we got to enjoy the whole thing, with the teepee being an amazing choice for the wedding breakfast and transforming with the lighting as the sun goes down and the reception starts. Now the food... You think at the beginning, "Bit risky, can't have my own catering and have to go with them..." Let us share, if this kitchen had a restaurant, I would be there EVERY week! I would eat anything on the menu, and trust them entirely. Just genius work in accomodating dietary requirements between 100+ guests, with one particular tough set of requirements, with that guest saying it was one of the best meals he had ever eaten, with the rest of the guests a little jealous. We cannot recommend this venue and team enough! We will be returning for open events, because we miss the team and they are the warmest and most caring people to ensure you enjoy your day. The venue was of course lovely, even when wet, as we knew it would be. Our guests loved the rusticness of the barn and the novelty of the tipi. The food went down very well and no one was hungry, as you promised. People raved about the cocktails, the Margherita and Lemon Drops being particularly popular. But really the biggest thing that made Dovecote the perfect place was the effort that you and the team went to to make it special. All the organisation in advance made us feel very calm and confident that things would go to plan. The unconventional table plan with large central top table and satellite round tables worked so well and seemed to make great use of the space. And we are so grateful for the on-the-day actions, like storing our bags safely in the office, showing the groomsmen how to put on their buttonhole flowers, holding back some canapés to make sure that Meggie and I ate enough, shuttling guests under umbrellas, moving multiple flowers and decorations across the site exactly as envisioned, prompting us of the best time to do confetti and to get some couple pictures to make sure these weren't missed, allowing us to move the outdoor rugby game into the snug area (which ended up being an epic arena!). These little details are what we really noticed and appreciated. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
There are just too many to choose from, but my favourite has to be a beautiful hot day, the tipi looked wonderful and everyone was lapping up the sun and not wanting to complain, but it was so hot!!! It hadn't rained for weeks. Then there was a clap of thunder and a sudden downpour. The children and guests ran outside to dance in the rain...what a brilliant moment!

Don't allow yourselves to be overwhelmed by the opinions of you friends and families when trying to plan your big day...remember...it is YOUR day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A bespoke handmade wooden bench, engraved especially and used in the ceremony for the bride and groom.

The crab and prawn sesame toast is just amazing!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
A homemade spinach, mushroom and mozzarella calzone or a cone of chips! Can't beat it!
