Plan your dream wedding in the Grand Ballroom: the spectacular, listed interior with original plaster features, Art Deco chandeliers, and triple-height windows is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Midlands, and can accommodate between 70 and 350 guests. As well as helping with the menu planning and preparations for the reception, our expert team can help with introductions to a “little black book” of trusted suppliers, from florists and cake-makers to DJs, bands and entertainers. For parties fewer than 60 guests, our private dining rooms on the first floor combine original features and double-height windows with views across to the Cathedral and gardens. The hotel is officially licensed for civil ceremonies across 4 rooms for up to 200 guests. The room set ups and the staff were very helpful. The food was good both at our sit down and we had many compliments from evening guests about the buffet. Many of our family & friends thought it was such a fantastic venue something they’d never been to for a wedding. The terrace was definitely a winner! Meg we are so happy we chose the Grand as our venue and honestly cannot be happier!We had such a great time from start to finish at the hotel. The day itself could not have gone better. Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The Grand Staircase is a gorgeous and pivotal location for your couple and guest photos. Lovingly restored with rich detail, our Grand Staircase is the centrepiece of the hotel, which both you, your guests and photographer, will love. Picture this, an overhead shot of our spiralling Grand Staircase, you both lovingly hand in hand as you descend. Elegance could never look so easy.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Tough choice! Must say the Pork Belly & Mushroom arancini canapés go down a treat.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
My favourite midnight snack, or should I say Charcuterie spread, is of Cheeses', savoury crackers and chutney dips. For a treat away from home, I like to order our Cheese and Charcuterie Board from our Room Service menu, accompanying with Crispy Sourdough, Grapes and Pickles. Available all day for overnight guests, because why should treats be saved until midnight?
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our Grand Hotel is full of period character with original Victorian architecture and marble detailing. Beautifully restored with complimenting Arts from the history that roamed our walls since 1879. Interior design featured throughout the hotel and in every direction. There is no other Grand Hotel Birmingham.
