The average cost of a wedding in the area is £18,738, which is over £2,000 less than the overall UK average. So, not only is the county a brilliant place for your wedding day, but you can also pay a lot less than other couples across the country.

With its natural beauty and varied history, Worcestershire lends itself to rustic-luxe weddings with a romantic, laid-back feel.
Many couples embrace the local landscape with barns, boho styling, wildflowers and farm-to-table catering, making sure to include local and seasonal ingredients like asparagus on the menu. Cider is also a must-have at the bar, thanks to the abundance of local brewers in Worcestershire, who often source their apples from the local orchards.

The average cost of a wedding venue in Worcestershire (and the rest of the West Midlands) is £5,818, which is just a tad less than the overall UK average. That being said, with such a huge selection of affordable venues, as well as other suppliers and vendors across the region, it’s an ideal location if you want to keep your spending down.
Because of its affordability and range of options, Worcestershire is a hugely popular area for weddings. The average lead time for wedding venues in the region is 12 to 18 months. However, this can rise to more than two years for the most sought-after venues, or during the busier times of year. To avoid disappointment, if you’re seeking a weekend or summer date, we recommend booking as soon as possible.
If you’re flexible and you’re happy to consider mid-week or winter dates or different types of venues, this wait can drop to as low as six months. Not only that, but many venues offer discounts for weddings booked during the off-peak season, too.
As Worcestershire is fairly centrally located in the West Midlands, it usually has quite mild weather throughout the year, which makes it ideal for countryside and outdoor wedding celebrations during the summer.
Spring (March – May) sees the countryside come to life, with parks like Worcester Woods Country Park looking especially beautiful. Late spring is a great time for outdoor weddings, with average temperatures of 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F). That being said, spring showers are common, so venues like Birtsmorton Court & Church and Manor Hill House, with both indoor and outdoor spaces, are ideal.
Summer (June – August) is the busy wedding season in Worcestershire, and with average highs of 20°C to 23°C (68°F to 73°F), it’s easy to see why. The long days are perfect for golden hour photos in the great outdoors. It’s also the best time for an outdoor wedding, which you can do at venues including Hagley Golf Club and Boundless Outdoors Weddings.
Autumn (September – November) is when the county turns from green to various shades of reds, yellows and oranges. Those lovely autumnal colours lend themselves brilliantly to your wedding photos, and with average temperatures from 9°C to 17°C (48°F to 63°F), it’s still worth considering a venue with outdoor space, like Arley House & Gardens.
Winter (December – February) weddings in Worcestershire can be fantastic, especially in historic buildings where there’s a fire roaring and festive decorations hanging from the ceiling. Temperatures hover between 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F), but can drop below zero, so an indoor venue like Pendrell Hall is definitely recommended.
Just a stone’s throw from Birmingham, Worcestershire is a convenient choice for guests coming from all corners of the UK, thanks to its central location and variety of transport options.
If you’re arriving by rail, Worcester is reachable from Birmingham in under 45 minutes, and from London Paddington in just two hours. Other towns like Kidderminster, Droitwich Spa and Great Malvern also have good rail links.
By car, the M5 and M42 provide easy access from the North, South West and Midlands. Loads of venues across the region offer parking, so it’s one less thing to think about.
For guests flying in, Birmingham Airport (BHX) is the nearest major airport (around a 45-minute drive), making Worcestershire a brilliant choice if you have a lot of guests travelling in from overseas.
