Rules are few and far here at Brinsop – everyone knows, I like to say ‘YES!’ - because we understand each couple wants something different and we embrace those differences…and really help you achieve those special touches, offering an almost endless list of places for you to make your vows – moatside, down under the huge Cedar with the double swing, up in our London Plane woodland glade, banqueting Hall, Library, Astley Pavilion …the list goes on.. With 15 Large double bedrooms and 3 singles – not forgetting our 2 magical and idyllic cottages nearby – we can sleep 33, and up to 47with extra beds. We have function rooms that will take your breath away – truly – people have been brought to tears on seeing our candlelit Banqueting Hall ! – and each of them is so special. Your guests will be awed by this beautiful property, thoughtfully and decorated in a contemporary way with not a hint of old house crustiness! Time after time, people leave saying it was the best wedding experience they had ever had. And it’s exclusively yours for your stay…and that can be for as long as you want.. Your amazing day will go smoothly in the hands of our accomplished co-ordinators, with a senior event manager on hand - after being arranged in the preceding months with the same person who sees you through your day. We think our clients like continuity. Maybe you would like to arrive the evening before and enjoy hosting your nearest and dearest in the Queen Anne Dining Room, use the Games Room getting to know a little better some of those family members you rarely see, while the bar is open for your own convenience, or lie back and relax in front of the woodburner in our superb Parlour. Alternatively, in summer months you can get out and play croquet , badminton, cricket, football, tennis, fish in the moat or just lounge in our hot tubs while chatting to and having FUN with those you love so well

Pure magic

There’s no better way to describe our wedding weekend at Brinsop Court. My husband and I had our unforgettable celebration there last summer, and it’s safe to say that we are still not over it—and don’t think we ever will be. From the moment we first visited Brinsop in January 2023, we knew it was the one. It was the first venue we saw, and we fell in love instantly. We didn’t need to look anywhere else—right then and there, we secured our date with the Brinsop Family, and that’s where our journey with them began. What followed was nothing short of exceptional. From our first meeting to the multiple venue visits (some for planning, others just to soak in the beauty with friends and family), to the countless emails and phone calls, the Brinsop Family was there every step of the way. They welcomed us with open arms, offering support, guidance, and expertise that made the entire process seamless. Brinsop Court is so much more than just a wedding venue. Yes, the breathtaking grounds, the historic 14th-century Manor House, and the variety of magical ceremony and reception spaces set the scene for an unforgettable celebration. But what truly sets Brinsop apart is the people. The Brinsop Family has perfected the art of weddings and events—they have an answer to every question, a solution to every challenge, and a way of making you feel like your vision is not just understood, but completely shared by them. One of the many things that made our wedding so special was that Brinsop is dog-friendly. Our lovely dog, Mabel, was able to be part of our big day, and the team made sure she was included in all the important moments while also looking after her when she needed rest and calm. Knowing she was well cared for made such a difference to us, and we’re so grateful for how thoughtful and accommodating the Brinsop team was. A special mention must go to our wonderful coordinator, Nadia. From the beginning, she was there to make sure every detail was just right. She listened, planned, and made sure every department was on the same page, ensuring our wedding weekend flowed effortlessly. Nadia made the whole process feel easy, checking in at all the right moments and always understanding of our busy schedules. Looking back, we feel so lucky to have had her by our side—her warmth, kindness, and expertise made wedding planning a joy, and she truly felt like a friend to us. More special shoutouts go to Mark, the bar manager, and Amy, the Head Chef, who were both incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They worked with us on every detail of our food and drink, bringing our ideas to life in ways we never imagined. No request was too much—even when we asked for a London pie and mash recipe for our evening food, the catering team perfected it, and it was a huge hit with our guests. A highlight for us was the seafood paella the chefs prepared for our Sunday garden party—absolutely unreal! Throughout the weekend, the entire Brinsop team went above and beyond. The coordinators and grounds team ensured that everything and everyone was exactly where they needed to be at the right time, making the whole experience feel effortless. The bar staff brought energy and fun to every moment, and the chefs delivered meal after meal that exceeded all expectations. Brinsop Court has everything you could wish for in a wedding venue—stunning ceremony locations, a magnificent reception space, and charming cottages for a secluded yet connected stay. But it’s the little details that make it extra special—the light-up dance floor, the magical courtyard steps for a grand entrance, and the seamless way every space flows together to create the most incredible atmosphere. I believe that pictures speak a thousand words, and I hope ours capture the pure joy and happiness we felt on our wedding day, as well as the love and excitement shared by all of our guests. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the entire Brinsop Family for making our dreams come true. We will forever look back at our wedding weekend as the most incredible, unforgettable experience of our lives. If you’re searching for your perfect venue, do not hesitate to visit Brinsop Court. You will be just as blown away as we were, and you won’t regret choosing this magical place.

Couldn't fault anything at all!

After our initial show around in March 2023, we booked almost immediately as we completely fell in love with all of its charm. I also desperately wanted a moat, which this venue has! We got married in the medieval banquet hall which was absolutely stunning. Our drinks reception was outside, and our breakfast and evening do in the Knot Barn which was stunning. The coordinators were fantastic at sorting everything for us, especially a decoration mishap the day before which was much appreciated.

Seamless team at Brinsop

Words cannot express how wonderful my sister's wedding at Brinsop was, thanks to the seamless team! The wedding co-ordinator did a fantastic job. She catered for all our needs on the day and ensured it was stress free. Anything we asked or requested on the day, she ensured was dealt with by herself and the team, going above and beyond to ensure the perfect day. Every member of staff we came across was so friendly.

Like a Fairy Tale

I photographed a wedding at Brinsop Court back in 2021 and it was one of my favourites that year. The staff were so helpful, rooms were spacious. The outside courtyard where the ceremony was and the Bride walked down the steps like a fairytale. It was great to have drinks and canapés on the grass near the pond. The woods were super cool to have couples portraits. The field up the top of the woods looks awesome. The evening moved over to the the newest part which was super modern and clean.

Picturesque Wedding Venue

We had our wedding here in March. All the staff were amazing - our wedding coordinator Nadia was there at every turn to answer our questions and guide us through the entire day. The venue, location and food was everything we could of asked for. Sam the chef produced superb food, and was very flexible at accommodating our more difficult guests with dietary requirements. Mark and his bar team were helpful and friendly throughout. Would highly recommend this picturesque wedding venue to newlyweds.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Gosh, this one is so hard. We have seen so many personal touches, our couples can be so thoughtful. We have had tables named after travel destinations, Harry Potter cakes, sheep as ring bearers - you name it!

Charming. Idyllic. Magical. Unforgettable. Romantic (struggled to pick just 5)!

Where’s the best photo spot at Brinsop Court & The Knot?

This is a question many would answer differently. There are so many spots that it's truly hard to pick a favorite. Maybe in front of the pear trees, looking across the moat towards the ancient stone bridge, in the woodlands, our exceptional bridge over our glistening moat. With Brinsop being Grade II listed in its own right, it can be captured with a backdrop of either the cricket pitch and the rolling hills of Hereford or the mixed era façade of our exceptionally unique house.

Many! But we wouldn't dare say - ask if you come for a viewing! :)

The Yorkshire pudding canapes with local Herefordshire beef and horseradish is always a winner! Some couples pick slightly different alternatives to your typical canape, such as candy floss or popcorn - good if you are running a movie theme!

It has to be a charcuterie and cheese board with ALL the trimmings! Local produced cheese with a selection or breads and crackers accompanied with countless chutneys and spreads for every palate. The bonus is how beautifully it can be presented! Or a hamper full of cookies and hot chocolate - yes please!

What is Brinsop Court & The Knot most unique feature?

The venues hosts so many! A popular one is our beautiful Courtyard, complete with medieval steps - the perfect location for a sheltered outdoor ceremony or drinks reception!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

There is no one single part of my business that I am most proud of … Brinsop as you see it today is an absolute mix of fascination with the old place, joy to see the life being breathed into it and masses of plain hard slog which has resulted in this amazing place… So - I am proud of the market stall I started at weekends - while teaching during the week - which led to the 2 shops we opened - while I had 4 children - which then led onto the Mail order business we got lucky with - which led to me being able to buy Brinsop Court. I am proud of my husband and 4 fabulous daughters - who have seen so little of me for the last 12 years while I toiled at Brinsop. I am so proud of creating this incredibly special haven of English peace that people really love. I am proud of my staff – old and new – who give their very best every time to each visiting couple and group who come here. I feel incredibly proud when I realise that people I have never met before now recognise the name Brinsop…
