The day was absolute perfection. You and your team were wonderful. Communication was excellent, you always were accommodating of our requests, and service from the entire staff was top notch. Our guests even commented how excellent the service was. The day of was stress free and your team did a wonderful job of setting everything up. Very glad I ordered the extra canapés because my dad said he thinks he ate about 15 of the salmon-caviar blinis

We had been planning our wedding with our events planner, Tegan Harbron, for well over a year. At every stage discussing our requirements, Tegan advised and reassured us professionally and exceptionally well. It made our day, the perfect day. EVERYONE, from the moment we arrived the day before our wedding, the day itself and when we left, were AMAZING. We cannot thank hotel team members enough

Couldn’t have asked for better service from start to finish. Working with Sarah ORourke was such a lovely experience and nothing was too much to ask. She made everything seamless and we had the perfect day. Neil on the day was also so incredible and looked after us so well. All of the staff were amazing and there was always a smiling face and a helping hand

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe the best wedding that happened at The Caledonian Edinburgh?

Every wedding is special in its own way, but one thing that really sticks out was a wedding between two farmers who brought in two life size, wrought iron cows. There was a slight panic when the father of the bride asked how we would feel about having cows in the lobby!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Wedding planning can be incredibly overwhelming, so we always recommend breaking the big tasks into smaller tasks.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

During the COVID lockdown, we had a bride who was a primary school teacher and was teaching her students virtually. She was gifted table numbers that had been hand made by her pupils in her class as a surprise. They were adorable! And she was so touched by this.

Describe The Caledonian Edinburgh in 5 adjectives

Iconic, breathtaking, refined, timeless and welcoming.

Where’s the best photo spot at The Caledonian Edinburgh?

Definitely the Grand Staircase – it’s perfect for formal portraits or for a fun group shot just after the ceremony.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at The Caledonian Edinburgh?

Of course, but that's as much as we can say!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Our haggis bon bon! It’s a great introduction to Haggis for people who might be scared to try it, or Scottish classic for those who already love it. We also do a vegetarian haggis alternative for those that aren’t feeling so brave.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Our Kebab Station is a real favourite of the team and is always very popular with guests. Pic'n'mix sweets are also a great pick-me-up for all the dancing!

What is The Caledonian Edinburgh most unique feature?

We are lucky to have an iconic property that has many original features, providing fantastic talking points and photo opportunities. For example, our views of the Castle are a spectacular backdrop for you to enjoy whilst getting ready in your room on the day of the wedding, and we are lucky to have the most castle-facing bedrooms in the city.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We have the most wonderful team, who genuinely care about each couple as if they have known them for years (and sometimes we do!) From our housekeeping team who take pride in placing rose petals in the room, to our event operations team who ensure the same person who hosted the menu tasting serves the couple on the day. The Caley team become an integral part of your experience and are all focused on making your wedding day as special as possible. Your dedicated Event Planner will be on hand from the moment you enquire, all the way through to on the day, making sure every little detail is thought of.
