What an amazing day!What an amazing day!
We had our wedding reception at the Ghillie Dhu and could not have been more pleased that we chose this venue. From start to finish Amy was incredible - so accommodating of all of our requests and suggestions and easy to contact right up to the day. The evening was seamless thanks to the experienced staff and Amy was always there to keep everything running smoothly. We had so many comments from our guests on how amazing the venue was and how well planned it was, which is all down to Amy and the fabulous team there! Thank you for making it such a memorable evening. We had our wedding reception at the Ghillie Dhu and could not have been more pleased that we chose this venue. From start to finish Amy was incredible - so accommodating of all of our requests and suggestions and easy to contact right up to the day. The best day of our lives. If you’re pondering the idea of booking the Ghillie Dhu- do it! It is a stunning venue that is so unique right in the heart of Edinburgh, we had most of our guests travel from Ireland/ Australia/ Canada and it was a perfect location for plentiful hotels. The venue itself was breathtaking, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our wedding coordinator from the venue Amy Davies was incredible. She took care of us so well, and the day was so seamless and smooth. It really was the most magical day. I’ll never stop looking at our pics. We had an amazing experience with our wedding party via the Ghullie Dhu. Our wedding coordinator Amy was on top of everything from our first meeting, and having been slightly overwhelmed by all the details you have to consider, Amy was so professional in her approach. Her organisation and calmness really helped us make decisions and understand what we should be focusing on and when. It really removed a lot of stress and, on the day, allow us to let go and enjoy the party! It is worth mentioning that the ghullie dhu is an atmospheric venue, the staff were excellent on the night and the food quality and portions enjoyed by guests (and the bride and groom). We held our evening wedding celebration at Ghillie Dhu on 28th March 2025, with just seven weeks to plan it (as we were married abroad) — and it was absolutely perfect. The venue itself was stunning, and the staff were professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient throughout the night. We opted for the hot fork buffet, catered by Ghillie Dhu, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the variety of choices meant that even our guests with the most unusual allergies were well looked after. But the true star of the show was Amy, Ghillie Dhu’s wedding coordinator. From the moment we got in touch, Amy was a dream to work with. She was responsive, flexible, and incredibly supportive, answering all our questions with ease — even arranging Zoom calls with us while we were still abroad. Her organisation was flawless; she thought of everything so we didn’t have to. On the day itself, Amy was there every step of the way, making sure everything ran like clockwork. She was so friendly and warm, it genuinely felt like our best friend was running the event. She was always one step ahead, keeping a watchful eye to make sure we were happy and relaxed. The venue itself and the team at the Ghillie Dhu were absolutely fantastic and helped us bring our wedding celebration to life exactly how we had imagined it. Amy made sure all of the various moving parts ran smoothly on the night and we've had nothing but positive feedback from all our friends and family. The Ceilidh band got the evening going, making sure everyone got involved and the DJ brought the night to a close perfectly. The venue itself and the team at the Ghillie Dhu were absolutely fantastic and helped us bring our wedding celebration to life exactly how we had imagined it. Where to even begin... from start to finish Ghillie Dhu have been amazing to work with!! Amy has been incredible at keeping us on track and making sure we were organised for our Wedding Day - and we really could not have imagined the day without her. All our friends and family were commenting on how fantastic she was and we are so grateful to her. The whole team at Ghillie Dhu went above and beyond and we couldn't have dreamed of our day being as good as it was. The food was delicious, the drinks are flowing all day and the entertainment the venue arranged for us were better than we have ever seen perform at a venue before. We can’t recommend the Ghillie Dhu highly enough. It goes without saying that the venue is beautiful and well placed within the city, but every aspect of the day met those same high standards. The food was excellent and many of our guests have reached out to us since to say how much they enjoyed it. The drinks package was well received and great value. The decor and stationery provided by the venue all looked brilliant. The staff were all pleasant and more than accommodating to any of our needs. Our wedding co-ordinator Amy was unbelievably helpful in the build up and throughout the day. She was always on hand to deal with any queries we had and was open and adaptable to any changes we wanted to make to the running order/schedule. Our wedding planner Any Davies is a credit to the Ghillie Dhu and was outstanding, she looked after everything leading up to the wedding with ease and felt like a friend on the wedding day! She had every detail thought of and even liased with the Rutland apartments to help us when we needed time to move bags etc to other rooms prior to ceremony. I loved our wedding and woukd recommend the Ghillie Dhu so highly to anyone looking for a mind blowingly beautiful venue, great staff, yummy food and a party till you drop reception. The bar, it speaks for itself it's beautiful and well staffed. Live entertainment provided downstairs so our guests were entertained while we had our photos. Amazing!
