Ghillie Dhu

I cannot recommend the ghillie Dhu highly enough! From the day we booked here for our wedding we knew it was the right choice! Both Amy and Tyla have been AMAZING! Our wedding day ran literally to perfection, the staff were amazing, the set up was exactly how I imagined it. I can’t thank Amy enough for getting literally every little detail right on the day, she put me at ease the moment I met her and made my vision come to the life here. What a stunning venue, I’d do it all over again in a heart beat ☺️

We had an incredible wedding at Ghillie Dhu. As a couple from the United States, a high priority for us was finding a venue that had seasoned professionals at weddings as we'd be planning largely from abroad. Ghillie Dhu was certainly that and more, and the venue coordinator as well as all the personnel who were working on our big day were helpful, kind, courteous, and thoughtful. Our guests raved about the food, the decor, lighting, drinks and even the turnover of the space from the ceremony to dinner/dancing! Truly a beautiful, cozy, intimate-but-spacious venue that simply felt representative of "us" as a couple at the end of the day. Loved Ghillie Dhu and so thankful we chose it!! Will always be excited to return as a patron on our many returns to Edinburgh in the future :)

Both my new husband and I had a fantastic experience with The Ghillie Dhu from start to finish. Nothing was too much and they made sure that our wedding ran so smoothly, they guided us through each part of our ceremony so we knew exactly what was happening and at what time, they kept making sure that my dress was perfect and laying beautifully at the back which I really appreciated, we could not fault them . Thankyou to the amazing staff in Ghillie Dhu, Tyla and Amy are absolutely outstanding. We really wish we could do it all over again and everyone at our wedding loved the venue and the service.

We are just amazed by all the lovely feedback we got from our guests, food was fantastic, staff super friendly and the Venue was just magical. We couldn't be more pleased with The Ghillie Dhu being our choice of venue, to celebrate our special day.

Where to start. From the minute we met Emma to view the Ghillie Dhu, I had goosebumps. Just an amazing venue, and Emma was so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Emma paid huge attention to detail, and kept us right along the way. We couldn't choose between two photographers, and when we asked she had no hesitation in recommending the one that had worked many times at the Ghillie Dhu. In the week before and on the day we dealt with Tyla, and she too was fab. The day itself was incredible. The auditorium was beautiful, the staff were wonderful, the food was great - everyone said how fantastic it all was. Couldn't have asked for any more from the Ghillie Dhu, Emma and Tyla. Just wish we could do it all again!

We got married at the Ghillie Dhu in November last year and it was the happiest day of our lives! The whole lead up to the wedding and the day itself was managed by our Wedding Coordinator, Emma. She did a fantastic job of staying on top of all the finer details and logistics as well as having the patience of a saint answering all our questions and putting us at ease. She was a pleasure to work with! The venue itself really came to life and despite being a bit of a dull November day, all of our guests commented how cosy and beautiful it was. Most of our suppliers were from the suggested list. They were all easy to work with and really took the strain out of the planning process as they were familiar with the venue. It truly was the most perfect day and we can't recommend the venue and staff highly enough! Thank you! Nicola & Mitch

What a stunning venue, it created the perfect backdrop for the day and takes such little decoration because it is so stunning as it is. The service was wonderful, the food was phenomenal and guests couldn't stop talking about how perfect the day was. The day ran smoothly and this was solely down to Emma the co-ordinator, I didn't have to stress or think about anything on the day and Emma went above on beyond from planning right up until after the wedding. I would highly recommend.

From the outset Emma’s communication was strong & she engaged well with us. She kept us up to date on matters to be finalised in a timely & enjoyable manner. Emma also provided useful suggestions for additional suppliers but we felt under no obligation to proceed with those. It was great to receive some additional options to consider On the day she provided a very well organised, slick wedding ceremony through to wedding breakfast & evening reception The guests have all advised that it felt very chilled & relaxed & that’s down to Emma & the team making sure the day ran smoothly We provided all the table decorations & lanterns & Emma & the team set them up beautifully which I appreciate would be additional work for the team. The room was gorg & added to the ambiance of the event We had the best day.

Our wedding celebration at Ghillie Dhu was truly amazing! The venue is stunning with traditional features, high ceilings, beautiful organ, lots of candles and an exquisite staircase! The magical atmosphere, especially during Christmas with its festive decorations, added to the overall charm. We loved it, as did our guests who couldn't stop complimenting it. The location in Edinburgh is so central, making it convenient for those travelling from various places. It is also very close to Edinburgh castle, providing a picturesque backdrop for capturing the best and most memorable wedding photographs! Despite us being based in Australia, Emma (our wedding coordinator) made the wedding planning process stress-free and seamless. Through a few Zoom calls and numerous emails, she played a crucial role in ensuring everything ran smoothly. We are grateful for all her help and look forward to returning to Scotland to enjoy a drink at Ghillie Dhu on our next visit. Such a remarkably special day and memories for a lifetime.

I cannot fault the Ghillie Dhu for our wedding day... From the day we booked it to our big day, the team, the venue... EVERYTHING was amazing! If I could go back and do it again, I wouldn't change a thing!
