Achnagairn Castle has just been named the Best Wedding Venue in the UK by the prestigious Harper’s Bazaar Magazine!
At Achnagairn, our mantra is “Escape the ordinary” – we believe that every wedding is unique, and each should be extraordinary.
Situated 7 miles from Inverness, Achnagairn Castle is a magical venue. The jewel in its crown is the magnificent vaulted ballroom – a fairytale location for you to tie the knot, and hold a wedding banquet for up to 150 people. The space is truly breathtaking, and you are completely free to make it your own!
Achnagairn Castle runs as an exclusive use venue, meaning that for the duration of your stay, the Castle is yours and yours alone – from the ballroom, to the gracious reception rooms and 24 individually designed bedrooms. Wedding parties hire the Castle for a minimum stay of 2 nights, so that it isn’t all over in a flash, but rather you can have all your friends and family around you for the most special days of your life. The castle can sleep up to 55 in its 24 bedrooms, but Achnagairn Estate also has a further seven large luxury Mini Manors, only 200m from the castle, meaning that you can have up to 139 people to stay with you on the estate!

Our pricing includes exclusive use rental of the castle, its ballroom, gardens, reception rooms and 24 luxurious castle bedrooms from 4pm on the day of your arrival, to 11.30am on the morning of your departure.
It also includes breakfast for the castle guests on the mornings of your stay, and our lovely wedding coordinator to support in the weeks running up to your arrival and to help coordinate things on the day.
Included as well are a maximum of 15 5ft round tables and four 6ft trestle tables for your wedding breakfast, cross-back chairs for your ceremony and meal, and all staffing for the bar and drinks services along with glassware.

I even got tearful during our show round as I could truly envision spending the morning getting ready there. The venue’s wealth of on-site accommodation meant we could have all our 110 guests stay over with us. We felt so well looked after by the Achnagairn team throughout. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, every bedroom is so unique and the ballroom itself takes your breath away. Cara was our wedding co-ordinator and she was absolutely amazing. She kept in touch with us (while living in Australia), having frequent chats about our plans and noting everything down. Cara made sure everything went so smoothly on the day. I cannot recommend Achnagairn highly enough as a wedding venue. My partner Jess and I booked Achnagairn for our wedding venue and it was the most magical day we could ever have imagined. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Every one of our bedrooms at Achnagairn has its own name and theme - one of the most fun parts of planning a wedding with us is choosing who should go where! Have an aunt who loves things that are more traditional? Victoriana is for her! Bridesmaids who will love an amazing whirlpool bath? Carpe Diem is for them!

A tough one! Either the ballroom itself for grand surrounds, or the beautiful landscaped gardens...

Well, since we are based in Scotland, we couldn't help choosing something featuring Venison or Salmon1
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Our guests have always found a hearty but moorish Mac n cheese is the way to go!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The Ballroom! The only one of its kind in the Highlands of Scotland, the ballroom was built in 1912 for the then owner's daughter's 21st birthday. Today, it is a magical place to tie the knot, or hold your wedding banquet!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We love seeing the amazing comments left in our guest book after a wedding. They put a huge smile on our faces seeing everyone from the couple themselves, through to parents, friends and family saying that they just could not have imagined a better venue!
