Our events coordinator Jo was wonderful from our very first meeting, putting us at ease and was so friendly and easy to talk to. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Even on the day when there was some last minute changes, the team were absolutely flawless. We couldnt have asked for a better venue and team supporting us on our day.The Kingsmill were the most perfect wedding venue from start to finish. The staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful throughout the whole day & the lead up to it. Joanna was absolutely amazing from the day we first enquired right up until after the wedding, she was there through every stage of planning and was always on hand with my countless queries, the continuity made such a massive difference on the lead up to the day also. The only negative comment I have towards the wedding was that the day went by in a flash, but myself and Neil were blown away with how smooth everything went on the day without us having to worry about a single thing as everything was managed and run perfectly by the hotel staff. Thank you so much again, we are so glad we chose the Kingsmills for our wedding venue as we loved every minute of it! We had the best day for our wedding, it was everything we imagined and more! Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
The Kingsmills is made up of five beautiful and individual venues; the Adams Room, Macleod Room, Inglis Ceremony Room, Burns Room and the elegant Kingsmills Suite. As each day is so personal, it's really hard to choose! A recent Spring wedding saw one couple enjoy a garden ceremony to the sounds of birdsong, canapés and champagne in the gardens and they even brought in alpacas to entertain the guests. In the evening, the dance floor was full for a traditional foot-stomping ceilidh - a proper Highland 'knees up' and truly a day to remember.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
We believe that it is important to work with suppliers who truly resonate with you and share your vision for the day. The venue is likely your biggest consideration and a venue with everything on site; bedrooms, leisure, gardens, event space and local contacts and experience will take a lot of organisational pressure off your hands.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of the most special occasions was when we assisted with the live streaming of a wedding ceremony back to the bride's grandmother in Russia. One of our team was able to converse with her, set up the Skype call and tears were shared as the happy couple said their vows.

Elegant, Personal, Individual, Historic and Special.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Each season, our favourite spot changes depending on the colours, lighting and weather. In Spring, the light streams through the bay window at the front of the hotel - perfect for couple photos. In the Summer, it has to be the wedding garden with the backdrop of lush lawns and bright foliage. Autumn sunsets are perfectly captured on the garden path leading to our garden rooms; the beds flower in rich ruby reds and golden hues. In Winter, venture out under a flurry of snow or if the weather is inclement, the Adams Room by the roaring log fire is second-to-none.

What’s your favourite canapé?
The Haggis Bon Bon is the most popular with guests... why stray from a sure winner?! However, our favourite? A whipped Goat’s Cheese Mousse using cheese from local Connage dairy served in a crisp tartlet with beetroot relish.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
A bacon roll hits different at midnight...

The Kingsmills building dates back to 1785 and the hotel boasts all the charm of a castle with a striking exterior. However, what our team are definitely the most unique feature; we truly care and every member of the team will go above and beyond to ensure your day exceeds your expectations.
