- DDeborah & Peter06/07/2024Oue Wedding - May 2024Oue Wedding - May 2024We celebrated our wedding reception here in May 2024 and stayed the night before and the evening of our wedding in the bridal suite. The suite is very large and was a great space for me, my Mam and Sister to get ready in. It has two dressing tables, full length mirrors, a bath tub and separate bathroom with a walk-in shower, a comfortable bed, chaise longue and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe, chest of drawers and two side tables. The room was very warm though and we had two fans going and all of 8 windows open for the entirety of our stay. The breakfast selection is amazing. I'm a vegetarian and had a few different options to choose from. I had avocado and tomato on toast on the first morning and the Vegetarian English breakfast the next. Vikki the Events Manager is lovely and was very quick to reply to my many emails and requests. Although they have recommended event decorators, we chose to buy centrepieces and decorate the function room ourselves and were able to do so the day before our wedding and tidy up the day after without any trouble. The hotel has a licence to perform ceremonies also but we wanted to get married in the Town Hall just a mile away. The hotel is a great location for photographs and we got some great pictures on the beach, sand dunes and in the Marine Park across the road from the hotel. The function room is ideal for smaller more intimate weddings. We had a total of 45 guests over 6 tables of 7-8 people and space for a dance floor which felt about the right size. The room is nicely decorated in grey and white with beautiful silver chandeliers and mirrors and has its own bar. The chairs are in good condition and we didn't feel covers were necessary. The staff were amazing and served the meals really quickly. Credit to the chefs as our meals tasted incredible and all of our guests commented on how good the food was. The in-house DJ seemed to have some difficulty using his equipment during the first dance and father-daughter dance which made things a bit awkward having to restart the song and adjusting the volume throughout but we laughed it off and didn't let it ruin the evening. I had sent across my own playlist so maybe that had something to do with it. Overall we had a fantastic day. Nice rooms with modern furnishings. Comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Free parking with car registration on check in. Really good value for the price.The location is spot on. She and her staff worked very hard to ensure the wedding reception went extremely well. The room was utterly amazing. The food was delicious well served.
