Whether you're looking for somewhere to host an intimate ceremony with a select few or an extravagant celebration for 200, we have the perfect space to host the wedding of your dreams.
It won’t take much for you to fall in love with The Farmhouse, a beautiful venue with its own exclusive grounds in the heart of the Beamish Valley.
You will approach the 150-year-old stone Farmhouse through a private driveway and gated entrance. After saying ‘I do’ in the stunning ceremony, you can take to the exclusive grounds for drinks and photographs before heading inside the main dining area for a delicious feast. Imaginatively designed with an orangery roof and large windows to allow you and your guests to take in the stunning countryside. As day turns to dusk, gather your guests in a cosy corner of the lounge area with a real log burning fire and plush furniture to relax before the evening party begins.
Our spacious and elegant Durham Suite was once a stone stable block and has been sensitively converted into a bright, beautiful space that is ideal for hosting all manner of celebrations.
Seating up to 150 guests banquet style, the Durham Suite is flooded with natural daylight and has access to a stunning private garden plus an outdoor 'Tipi Style' seating area with heaters and fur throws available.
The Old Barn is separate from the main hotel and is a truly splendid space for celebrations.
With wooden floors, original beams, and classic features, this beautiful venue is spacious enough for 200 guests and has a separate area for hosting wedding ceremonies.
The perfect venue for smaller weddings up to 45 guests where you can enjoy a personal and unforgettable experience with all your nearest and dearest. The Beamish Barn boasts original wooden beams, rustic wooden floors, natural lighting, and a roaring log fire.

From our very first meeting, we felt completely supported and understood. As an international couple, we relied a lot on communication from afar, and the team at South Causey were always there for us. No question was ever too small, too obvious or too last-minute. We never once felt like just another couple and we were always made to feel like our day genuinely mattered. A special shout out and huge thank you to Stephanie and Stacey, who were absolutely incredible throughout the entire journey. They were patient, reassuring and always one step ahead of us. In the build up, they were on hand for everything we needed. The day before, they helped us settle in and feel calm. On the day itself, they made sure everything ran so smoothly that we didn’t have to think about anything except enjoying every moment. They were kind, attentive and genuinely caring and that made all the difference. The venue itself is beautiful! The Durham Suite was perfect for us, creating a relaxed, warm atmosphere that still felt special and full of joy. Our guests still talk about how lovely it all was. We couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful, seamless, or heartfelt experience. South Causey Inn gave us a wedding that felt entirely 'us' and we are so grateful. From initially viewing the venue, to booking and actually spending a few days there for the wedding itself. We cannot fault South Causey in any way. They helped us through the process, ensured all bases were covered and kept us informed at all times. The Old Barn was perfect for us and a beautiful setting. All of the staff we dealt with were outstanding and extremely helpful. The food was amazing and the portions were extremely generous. Our guests commented on the quality of the day and the food was a common talking point. To the point where people were shocked at the quantity received alongside the quality. While all staff were brilliant, Stephanie was great at helping us book and prepare for the day. The two ladies who gave us our treatments were fantastic (unsure of names). Our co-ordinator Adam was fantastic at keeping the day on track. All were truly genuine and we cannot thank them enough. We are genuinely grateful for how well we were looked after and how they helped to make the day a truly memorable occasion. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Having had family members married there, and having visited the restaurant for food, we knew from the start that the South Causey was where we wanted to get married ourselves. We initially booked the Farm House, a very beautiful room which we were looking forward to. However, after attending another wedding showcase, we decided that the Durham Suite would be a better room for us, as it was slightly bigger, with beautiful floral hanging garlands cascading across the room. The staff at South Causey helped us to switch our venue with ease. We loved how this room also gave us the stunning Durham Garden and outdoor area, all of which were used throughout our perfect day. The organisation of the South Causey was second to none and every single member of staff was absolutely wonderful and attentive. Nothing was ever a problem and every question was always answered. This was true even during the actual morning of the wedding when, through various circumstances, a guest was no longer able to attend, so someone else came in her place, but required a different menu and seat. This was sorted with great ease, with replies telling me not to worry. Our breakfast the following morning felt like a continuation of wedding celebrations, with Sue our waitress on top form joining in with jokes around the table. Thank you so much to Stacey our wedding coordinator who ensured everything went to plan on the day. Thank you also to Stephanie who led our meetings leading up to the day. From the moment we booked, the communication was great with the wedding team, no question was too much (and believe me I had a LOT of questions), response times were amazing for our many queries right up until the day before! We decided to spend the night before in the bunkhouse and the Duck house, and we felt like royalty from the second we arrived. The whole team made everything so smooth and stress free for us both. On the day we had Stacey as our co-ordinator, and we just couldn't believe how smooth she made our day go. She was a genuine and lovely person, who really went above and beyond the entire day. The venue was absolutely beautiful, food was incredible, and the staff were amazing. We wouldn't change a single thing about our day, and we are so happy we had the most important day of our lives at the South Causey. From moment we booked 2.5 years ago communication has been amazing . I stayed in the hen house the night before and had the best Time. Our wedding co ordinator Adam was amazing and ensured the day went smoothly even when I had a red wine incident on my dress 😫 but Adam and a lady called sure were amazing and who would have e known white wine does the trick. The room looked amazing just how I envisaged too. The bar staff were fantastic and so friendly. My friends and family commented on how lovely all the staff were. It was simply just perfect . The South Causey Inn go above and beyond to make sure everything goes to plan and they sure did make the whole process of planning the wedding completely stress free. The day itself was fantastic - what an amazing venue! All my guests were commenting at how amazing all the staff were and how smooth the wedding day ran - Adam in particular was fantastic!! Also the food…..unreal!!! I seriously cannot get over the full day and I will continue to praise South Causey Inn!! I will always recommend this venue to anyone looking for to book their wedding. We originally dealt with Steph from booking to arranging the final pieces, and nothing was ever a trouble. She had great communication with us though out and was always quick to answer questions and even solve issues. She ensured I stay in my room with my bridal party until the last minute and made my visions and ideas come to life. The venue itself helps as it’s just beautiful. We had Stacey on the day, and all I can say is *chefs kiss* 🤌🏽. Stacey checked in on me the morning and even helped and ensured the table plan was how I wanted it with layout. She had the day running impeccable, I didn’t have to worry about one thing. It was perfect, she ensured me and my husband have 10 minute private time after the ceremony with a drink to have that special moment as husband and wife. She even carried my dress round and ensured it was fluffed to perfection. We couldn’t have had a better coordinator, and day! Lots of love The Malone’s!
