Description

The Manor House Hotel is a beautiful location for your wedding, reputedly King Henry VIII Hunting Lodge, set in a spectacular walled garden in the countryside of North East England. Early in 2025 we completed a £1.2M refurbishment of the Knights Hall, restaurant, bedrooms, spa and a stunning conversion of The Old Stables into a rustic wedding barn. Romantic rural and rustic weddings, moving through the hotel from the wedding barn or outdoor pavilion for your ceremony, then flowing through to the Hotel and stunning grounds for your drinks reception. Then finally into the grandeur and pure luxury of the stunning Knights Hall for your wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. Wow your guests with simplicity and luxury combined to deliver your fairy tale weddings. We offer luxurious exclusive use weddings, bespoke packages and set packages to cater for all budgets. Seating up to 120 guests in our galleried Knights Hall overlooking the grounds, where knots are tied and celebrations begin. Our stunning bridal suite has a roll top bath in the very modern four poster bedroom, with newly refurbished walk in shower for two, pure luxury and indulgence. Our experienced staff have delivered weddings for the rich and famous, with attention to detail and excellent customer service as standard. With easy access only 10mins fro A1M and only 10mins drive into the beautiful dales.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

We have so many fantastic weddings here it would be difficult to pick just one. Some of our most memorable weddings have been a Harry Potter wedding in the splendour of our Knights Hall, set as the Great Hall, a Vintage Tea Party in a tipi in our beautiful grounds with vintage china and hand-made bunting and a Victorian Gothic wedding with the Bride arriving in a hearse.

Everyone's dream wedding is unique and we work with each couple to make that dream a reality.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Pintrest is brilliant for finding new ideas and sharing with friends and family.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One of my favourites has to be the memorial frames that some Brides have attached to their bouquet, so a loved one who is not able to be here in person is still able to be with the Bride as she walks down the aisle.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Depending on whether your a sweet or savoury fan I have two favourites, both of which have an interactive element.

A Loaded French Fry bar with toppings of Bacon, Fried Onions, Cheese & a selection of sauces. For those with a sweet tooth a S'mores station with Biscuits, marshmallows, chocolate & toffee sauce.

Our Suit of Armour Henry who greets you as climb the medieval stair case to your room.

Our wedding couples are offered a personal service from start to finish with a small team of wedding coordinators who are on hand during the lead up to your wedding, as well as on the day itself.
