We had our Reception, buffet and ceilidh at The Croft and we can tell you that we had an absolutely brilliant time. Wonderful. Memorable. Fun! The Blessing was at Croft Church (highly recommend plus it's a beautiful space with great photo opportunities) and then we walked acros the road and had a Receiving Line at the Pink Door followed by a drinks reception in the main bar area. The hotel's gorgeous MC then conducted our guests through the hotel's own Chapel to the Ballroom where we spent the rest of the day. You are given quite a lot of freedom as to how you want to set out the main room which was something we really appreciated. We had brought our flowers across from the church and we were allowed to move items around to display these effectively. It was a lovely sunny day so many of our guests opted to use the very comfortable outdoor seating area throughout the day. With regards to food we chose to have a buffet during the day and then platters and churros in the evening. The company which owns the hotel - The Apartment Group - along with the hotel staff are very amenable to the set menus being adapted and so we and our guests had a lovely selection of dishes to choose from, both hot and cold. We did not meet the chefs or kitchen staff but we had cause to go into the kitchen later in the evening and it was spotless. Every interaction we had with members of staff at the hotel was a joy. Whether they were a member of the reception team (always and every time friendly), working at the bar (what a pressured role that is), evening staff (so sweet and kind), waiting staff (thoughtful to everyone), the cleaning staff (smiley and ready to help), and the night porter (who is probably the unsung hero of the place!) not one person made us ever feel like we were a nuisance. We want to particularly name check Jess, who was incredibly patient with us at all times from the moment we made our first enquiry until we checked out the day after our bash, and our lovely wedding planner, Emily, who responded to every email, every phone call. We could not have been looked after any better and they constantly went above and beyond to make sure our day was special to us. At no point did we feel we were just another wedding, yet another bride and groom. Croft Hotel prides itself on offering affordable luxury. We had a budget (one quite a bit below the quoted national average) and 80+ guests. Croft Hotel is right to pride itself on this. The only thing to be aware of is that it marks up alcohol and you cannot get around it by bringing in your own wine. We should have saved ourself the hassle and extra cost of time and over-ordering and gone with their choices rather than paying corkage. Every single thing was perfect! The lovely staff were amazing and couldn't have been more helpful and just lovely to be around all day. They really helped us feel so calm and like we didn't have to think about one thing on the day because they had it sorted. I wanted it to last a week just an unbelievable day. The venue is stunning! The photos outside the pink door and in the garden are everything and more (Sophotogenic). We had beer pong, churros, a magic mirror and a fantastic band! (Soden and sons) and they set everything up perfectly. The drinks were flowing and Ethan really helped to bring the atmosphere and get everyone up and in the party spirit. Truly an unforgettable day and that walk down the aisle is just phenomenal I couldn't recommend it more they are amazing.Every single thing was perfect! Where do I even begin with The Croft… It didn’t take us long at all to fall in love with this venue. The staff and our coordinator Eva, from booking through to our big day and beyond, were all outstanding so we would like to say a huge thank you to them all for making our day perfect. Our day was flawless and we wouldn’t have changed a single thing. The venue is beautiful and doesn’t need anything extra, every single detail has been considered. The food is also delicious! It was everything we could have wished for and more. I first discovered The Croft hotel on bridebook ( bridebook had been suggested to me by my sister) and I knew I wanted a venue that was a little big different but modern and I was so excited when I discovered the Croft Hotel. I am not local to Croft on Tees where the venue is located so my partner and I's first experience was at an open day where we met one of the venue coordinators and got a tour around the venue and I instantly loved it. It is so different to any other venue we had seen and I knew we wanted something a bit different. The ceremony room sold it for us and we also loved how transparent the packages were for each day and season. Fast forward to booking, our date was held provisional to make sure the registars and the preferred vendors we wanted were avaiable, which was extremely helpful to us and once we payed the deposit, the payment plan was easy to follow and useful for both parties. We were then introduced to paige who was our wedding coordinator in the run up to our wedding who assisted with all my queries ( no matter how small) and was just at the other end of an email or phone call. 9 months before our wedding we were invited to a menu tasting for our wedding menu where we also booked an overnight stay. We got introduced to staff at the venue, met one of the master of ceremonies, met other couples marrying at apartment group venues and got to get into the feel of our venue and wedding planning. This is a lovely extra included in our wedding package that allowed us to have a bit of a wedding related date night in the midst of our wedding planning. 6 weeks before our wedding, my partner and I had a zoom call with Paige and Paige knew exactly what she needed from us and went through alot of detail which definitely put me at ease ( as a bit of a type A bride) , she did a full run through of the day, noting all details and then sent the breakdown to us to confirm we were happy. Fast forward to our wedding, the night before we had a meeting with Ethan, our master of ceremonies and it was very clear how passionate he is about his job. He wanted to make sure every detail was correct, every guest was looked after and wanted to make sure our day was as perfect as possible. He had all the time in the world for us and couldnt be more grateful for his attentiveness and professionalism! The morning of the wedding, we met Jessica and other venue staff and they were so kind, caring and attentive. The day ran so well, they were happy to help in anyway and one big thing I noticed, was the staff were always smiling and this continued throughout the full wedding. The venue was clean, stunning, dressed to impress, the staff clearly pride themselves in their jobs and I know our day was the perfect day and the venue and their team were a huge part of that! If you’re looking for a sign to book any venue for your wedding, take this as yours to book the Croft !! I cannot compliment the staff enough for their helpfulness and support throughout our planning process and on the day. Jenna was responsive, helpful and non-judgmental with all my silly and small questions and made me feel understood throughout all my conversations with her. The hand over to Megan on the day was smooth and she helped coordinate the day with so much ease we didn’t have to lift a finger. Along with them, the staff throughout the entirely of the hotel were friendly, warm and welcoming from start to finish. Anything we needed they had the answers, there was no problem too big or question too small that they couldn’t handle. Their friendly nature made all our guests feel at ease and comfortable through the whole day. If the glowing reviews about the staff weren’t enough to get you over the line, visit the venue. It is simply breathtaking. This one deceiving little hotel makes you feel like a princess from the ceremony throughout the reception. I challenge anyone to find a complaint about this beautiful venue because I am still struggling to find one. Me & my wife had our wedding at the croft hotel in Darlington recently and it was unbelievable. The staff from when we booked it and on the day couldn’t do anymore for us. They were always at hand to help with anything we needed. The venue it self is unreal. Id recommend anyone to choose this venue for their special day. Quite simply put the day far exceeded our expectations,right from the start with planning and deposits to the big day everything was taken care of and nothing was too much trouble. The bridal party were made to feel like the only ones who mattered, the staff couldn't do enough for us and if there were any problems we definitely didnt know about them. I would recommend them 100 times over to anyone who is considering it as a venue and honestly cant thank them enough!
