We met with Emma and from the first point of contact she was very friendly, welcoming and very helpful, we felt confident that Emma and the wedding team would look after us on our special day and we wasn't wrong. We chose to have a festival themed wedding, as we wanted a relaxed, informal day and to hold the ceremony and reception outside. We stayed at Mercure the night before our wedding, aswell as the wedding night. The bed was decorated with heart shaped towels, petals, a card and chocolate, which was a lovely touch and made our stay seem all the more special. All the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and polite. Mauricio was our toastmaster for the day and he, along with the wedding team and bar staff, made sure the day went to plan. All our guests said how fantastic the day was and Mercure was such a great venue to hold a wedding. As we went along we tried to thank as many staff as we could because we where so impressed with the level of customer service we received. All the staff worked so hard and we didn't have to do anything- it was seamless. Chloe was amazing and kept everything moving. The young man on reception at 6AM that helped me with the children's cars and ice buckets to our room. The ladies in the restaurant the evening before, that were really accommodating and helpful squeezing us in last minute. The lovely ladies at breakfast for starting early for us on the morning of the wedding and ensuring i ate something. Yourself for putting everything in place and always answering my annoying questions! Mauricio for just being a legend. I honestly could just go on, you have a lovely team there! The room was lovely. The whole hotel was lovely and clean. The food was fantastic, everyone said how much they enjoyed eating everything. Really, thank you all. You all made it such a special day with no stress! We will always think of the Mercure hotel fondly.We had the best day, the venue was perfect for our wedding and to find this at short notice was a huge blessing! The day went smoothly the staff were attentive if I had any questions throughout the day they were able to answer them. The food was delicious and a few of our guests also commented on the food saying it was delicious. The Garden is beautiful and offered space for our guests to enjoy the outside and the kids to run around in. We had the best day, the venue was perfect for our wedding and to find this at short notice was a huge blessing! Fostering a profound sense of joy and connection, we've had the privilege of witnessing a multitude of weddings this past year, each beautifully infused with the couple's distinctive personalities and expressed in their own authentic style. From enchanting Beauty and the Beast-themed ceremonies to spirited Halloween celebrations, our venue has played host to a diverse array of creative expressions, making each wedding a truly memorable and individualised experience
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make it 'Your Wedding, Your Way'. Couples are often so worried about pleasing every guest, they forget or compensate on the details that are most important to them. Create a magical day by reflecting your personality into your décor, music choices, and signature drinks.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Themed weddings are our favourite personal touches to contrast against ‘traditional’ weddings. In particular, a Bride and Groom approached us with an idea to indulge in a ‘Spiders Nightclub’ theme. Signature cocktails were replicated to fit this theme, including likes of the popular drinks ‘Sweet Death’ and Black Death’.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our beautiful grounds! Hidden spots for those intimate shots and large landscaped area for those all important group shots.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes! We have had a huge variety of celebrities at weddings and events at Mercure Hull. These range from well known chefs, football pundits and Love Island stars.
What’s your favourite canapé?
If we had to pick one, it would be crushed avocado & sun blushed tomato bruschetta
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Bacon sandwiches!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Cedars Caravan Bar - located in our grounds and available for reception drinks or for ice creams in the warmer months.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our team! Every member that the couple meet will have a genuine interest in their special day and want to help create some amazing memories.
