Riverlands is a wedding venue for people looking for something relaxed and authentic with the freedom to create a wedding, event or celebration that fits them. Set on our family farm in open countryside in a beautiful riverside location, Riverlands is the perfect, peaceful location in which to hold your special day. The stunning views provide you with a wealth of unusual photo opportunities. You can get married in the licenced 18th century granary barn, enjoy drinks and games in the courtyard, field and secret garden, chill by the fire-pit on luxurious leather chesterfield sofas, and eat, drink and dance in the 18x9m mid century wooden party barn. All the facilities are exclusively yours for the duration of your event, to give you complete privacy.

The best wedding venue by far!The best wedding venue by far!
We got married at the Riverlands this year in July, and it was honestly perfect from start to finish! I like everything to be organised but also relaxed and the Riverlands team absolutely did just that. Nothing was too much to ask and every single guest commented how beautiful the venue was but also how relaxed the day went. It was also dog friendly which meant we couldn’t have our furry best friend with us on our special day. We couldn’t have asked for more. A huge thank you to Ed, Kate, Kyler and the Riverlands team, you’re all amazing at what you do! We got married at the Riverlands this year in July, and it was honestly perfect from start to finish! As soon as we visited Riverlands for the first time, we knew it was the perfect venue for us. A huge thank you to Kate, Ed and all of the team for making the day, and all the preparation, so smooth and relaxed. A beautiful venue for anyone looking for a rustic, authentic wedding. We also loved how flexible Riverlands was compared to other venues we viewed, and for helping us put together a wedding which was right for us (we had lots of bespoke ideas!). We couldn’t recommend Riverlands more highly to anyone, a lot of thought and care has gone into creating the venue, and the quality of everything was clear to see. Thanks again, Riverlands! Choosing your wedding venue is one of the biggest decisions you have to make when planning a wedding and we knew from the second we stepped foot at Riverlands, there was nowhere else we wanted to have our day. The value for money is incredible, the staff are so accommodating and attentive, we couldn't have imaged a more perfect day. My husband (still not used to that!) and I stayed in the cottage the night before the wedding - untraditional but we wanted to soak up every moment TOGETHER - and we were welcomed with a lovely hand written note and bottle of prosecco, which we thoroughly enjoyed in the hot tub, whilst watching the sun set on our last night as fiancés. As for our wedding day itself, there literally are not enough words to describe how beautiful it was - from start to finish, the team at Riverlands made the day run smoothly and added nothing but joy to the whole day. Thank you Kate, Ed, Kyla and the rest of the team - we would do it again in a heartbeat. We had our wedding day here and it truly was the best day ever! From start to finish Kate and Ed made us, our friends and family feel so welcome, we felt so at home at the Riverlands the entire weekend. Nothing was too much trouble and the team really went above and beyond to help us create the most special day! Kyler the Venue Manager was absolutely incredible on the day, she’s like Wonder Woman, springing into action and making sure everything ran so smoothly. We didn’t have to worry about anything and could fully enjoy the day knowing she was on top of everything! Our guests were absolutely blown away by how stunning the venue was so many saying it was one of the most beautiful wedding venues they had ever been to. We could go on and on about how truly special the wedding was.We had our wedding day here and it truly was the best day ever! From start to finish Kate and Ed made us, our friends and family feel so welcome, we felt so at home at the Riverlands the entire weekend. Riverlands is such a beautiful venue! We fell in love with it straight away!! Kate and Ed have such a chilled, laid back approach and were so helpful with everything through the planning process. Kyler was amazing at taking away the morning nerves and made sure everything was running how it should, we really appreciate all her help! We loved the chilled setting of then venue and the cosy outside area with the open fire for guests to gather round. The cottage was also a lovely place to stay both before and on your wedding night. Everything was perfect from start to finish! I wish we could do it all over again! Thank you so so much for everything! L&KRiverlands is such a beautiful venue! Best venue ever! We had our wedding at Riverlands Wedding Venue on 28.08.25 and it was simply the best day. The venue and accommodation are simply stunning, all our guests said how beautiful the venue was. They venue & accommodation are perfectly set up for the day to flow perfectly. The riverlands team are so friendly and helpful - with so much experience they were able to offer so many ideas to make sure the day was exactly what we envisioned. My husband and I were engaged in September 2023, and immediately started the hunt to find the perfect venue. We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted - rustic barn, lots of greenery, a nice area for welcome drinks etc. We saw a few venues (including 2 we were really set on, but were disappointed by) but were then recommended Riverlands by a friend who couldn't have said better things. We reached out to Kate and Ed who immediately booked us a viewing. We called by a few days later and were blown away - the venue is incredible. It's so rustic but immaculately clean, with modern touches like the big black framed glass doors. It has such a romantic feel to it thanks to lovely little touches such as the fairy lights throughout (which looked amazing in the evening). There's so much space without it feeling too big, and everything is within arms reach including stunning accommodation. We used all 3 places - the cottage, the farm house and the shepherds hut. Everything was very well stocked down to the last utensil, super clean and mega comfy. We stayed in the cottage and used the farmhouse for the bridal party, and then used the dining room there the next morning to get ready. It was really fun having everyone in the house, we ended up having about 20 people getting ready in there and it didn't once feel too cramped because it's so huge. Throughout the planning, Kate, Ed and Kyler couldn't have done more for us. They are so quick to respond to emails, always willing to help, happy to let us come by pretty much whenever we needed to (5 times in the end!!) and even let us throw a drinks party the night before which really got everyone excited for the next day. The entire team really couldn't have done more for us, and the staff on the day were equally so friendly. There are also some really amazing recommendations on their site - we went with their suggestion of Pastelle for catering who provided the best food we've ever had (rave reviews from the guests!), Born Boho for venue dressing who somehow made it even more gorgeous, Eleanor Grace for singing who made everyone cry. The list goes on and on, it was such a relief and so reassuring having a set list of people you know you can rely on. We had our big day last Thursday and we're all still talking about it none stop. Everything just came together and ran so unbelievably smoothly; no dramas, no last minute panics - it was just perfect. Kyler and Kate were on site on the day in the background, you wouldn't have known they were there but were the first to appear if you needed anything and so hyped for us throughout the morning which made it even more exciting. They even cleared and packed everything up for us the following morning so all we had to do was pick it up from the barn when we were ready to leave. We can't begin to thank the Riverlands team enough for everything they've done for us, and will forever recommend them. We had our amazing August wedding at the Riverlands. From start to finish the team were friendly, helpful, and helped to make the whole experience the calm and relaxing one we had wished for! Our guests had a wonderful time, and every single one complimented the location, aesthetics and hospitality. We were lucky enough to have loved ones stay in the cottage, and farmhouse on site. Truly wholesome, and it felt so much more special having them close. The recommended vendors from Kate, Ed & the team were fantastic, and we cannot thank them enough for all pulling together to make our day truly perfect. The considerations for the surrounding wildlife/natural area made it even easier to choose. Come rain or shine this would have been the perfect setting. I have tried to write this review multiple times but everytime I feel what I say just doesn't fully convey just how amazing this venue is. There are literally no words but I'm going to try. When I was looking for a venue I wanted something that was relaxed, classic, and had an equal amount of beautiful outdoor and indoor space. From the moment I stepped onto the grounds at Riverlands I fell in love. It had everything I was looking for in a barn venue and it felt cosy and relaxed. Richard and Kate are absolutely amazing they answered all my last minute questions and constant barrage of emails (I'm so sorry!) nothing was too much. Even now that my wedding is over, they have allowed a guests family member to go and look around for a lost teddy bear truly going above and beyond! There wonderful event co-ordinator who was there on the day to make sure my day ran smoothly was genuinely the loveliest person I have ever met and a fellow Fifer so even better! When my son had a meltdown about wearing his kilt she was able to convince him to wear it (I need to know how you did it) she also makes a mean bramble! My guests were absolutely blown away by the venue and kept saying how beautiful it was. They all felt relaxed and happy which is exactly what I wanted. if you are considering a barn venue in east Yorkshire I will forever recommend Riverlands, the venue and team are fantastic.
