Built in 1852, Carlowrie Castle is steeped in fascinating history. Today, it is one of Edinburgh’s most unique venues and was voted one of the eight best wedding venues around the world by Grazia Magazine. In 2024 we became the only B Corp certified castle in the world. Enjoy the most romantic of backdrops, fine dining menus from our award-winning chef, and luxury champagne & canape receptions. With exclusive use of the castle and the entire estate, you can make it your own. You'll enjoy 32 acres of woodland and fields, with a stunning walled garden and lawn, tennis courts, historic glasshouses, and a tree-lined entrance. Your booking includes the use of nine spacious castle bedrooms, sleeping up to 18 guests, with further on-site accommodation options are also available for an additional cost. Our orangery banquets up to 100 guests in a beautiful light space with views across the perfectly manicured lawn. For evening receptions we can host up to 150 guests in the ground-floor rooms of the castle. Our hard-sided marquee, which boasts a marble-topped bar and crystal chandeliers, can banquet up to 275 guests and up to 400 for an evening reception. From your initial tour and tailored menu tasting, to supporting you with all the big decisions before your big day, our dedicated team will look after you every step of the way. We work with some of the best suppliers in the business and can provide our couples with tailored recommendations to suit your unique style and personality.

Amazing place and peopleAmazing place and people
It went by so fast. The venue is the perfect combination of regal castle with modernised interiors, but a touch of barn style with the highland cows not too far away. It's an all encompassing venue with something for every one and you will never regret it. The staff are exceptional and incredibly helpful with every detail. It despite there being another wedding the next day, we never felt rushed when we had to check out the next day. The venue is stunning and my only regret is that I didn't spend more time there.It went by so fast. Attended a wedding here (May2022). All I can say is outstanding. Service was impeccable, rooms are beautiful and couldn’t have been any better. During dinner service it was unbelievably professional, we all felt like celebrities. The whole staff where so accommodating, even when we’re were all well into party mode. Very much 5 start service. Fantastic setting for a weddingFantastic setting for a wedding
We have just returned from a family wedding at Carlowrie Castle and what a great experience it was from start to finish. The castle is at the end of a tree lined drive and it looks great as you approach it. As you walk in to the castle, you immediately notice that it is very modern in terms of decor (which is not what I was expecting) but it definitely works. After having seen the castle, experienced the service that the hotel and its staff provided, I would certainly recommend to anyone lookingWe have just returned from a family wedding at Carlowrie Castle and what a great experience it was from start to finish. We were lucky enough to have the beautiful Carlowrie castle as the venue for our special day! All our guests commented on how stunning the venue was (both inside and out) and the staff are the best in the business 😊 I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as the best wedding venue in Scotland. We are so sad the big day is over but have the happiest of memories from a beautiful day in a beautiful venue. Thank you again to everyone at Carlowrie Castle for making this the best day ever 🙌 We were lucky enough to have the beautiful Carlowrie castle as the venue for our special day! My husband and i had the absolute privilege to get married at the amazing Carlowrie Castle. It was one of the best days of our lives. Our friends and family were blown away by both the incredible venue and outstanding service given to us throughout the day and night. Some of the words that have stuck in my head from our guests are 'FLAWLESS', 'BEST WEDDING I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!', STUNNING but to name a few! Incredible Castle!Incredible Castle!
I was here for a wedding and stayed overnight as well. Our room was spacious, lovely and the staff were excellent. The castle grounds are beautiful, with lots of room to explore- we were lucky enough to even see some newborn Highland cows and talk with their caregiver a bit. This place is truly a once-in-a-lifetime place to visit; although I'd gladly stay again on return visits to Scotland.I was here for a wedding and stayed overnight as well. Our room was spacious, lovely and the staff were excellent. The castle grounds are beautiful, with lots of room to explore- we were lucky enough to even see some newborn Highland cows and talk with their caregiver a bit.
