A Typical Wedding at Wold View Farm
The day before your wedding
You will have access to the barn from 10am until 6pm. During this time you will be able to complete any decoration and styling and add all your personal touches. If you have suppliers helping you with this, they can access the barn during this time too. Having access to the barn for a full day prior to your wedding means that your wedding day will be calm and stress free as you will have peace of mind that everything in the venue is set-up as you want it to be.
At 5pm you can check in to our lodges and relax with your close friends and family. Imagine yourself relaxing in the hot tub overlooking the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds full of excitement for your wedding the following day.
Your Wedding Day
If you have any suppliers who need to bring items or set things up on the wedding day, they can access the barn from 8am. We are on hand to greet them, and we will direct them to where they need to be.
Below is an example of the timings for a wedding day which you can use a guide:
1pm – The I Do’s.
It is your choice where you get married, you can choose from our ceremony room inside the barn or one of our outdoor locations. Alternatively, you may decide to get married in a church.
1.30pm – 3pm – Drinks Reception, Canapes and Photographs.
We offer a number of drinks packages and themed bars which you can choose from to provide your guests with a drink following the ceremony. Lawn games are also a good idea to keep your guests entertained during this period.
3pm – 6pm – Wedding Breakfast and Speeches.
Whether you want a 3 course meal, a grazing table or themed food, one of our trusted recommended suppliers will be able to cook up a storm for you. At Wold View Farm you have complete control over which caterer you choose to help create your perfect wedding without compromise. Our wedding coordinator will be on hand to help direct guests to where they need to be and announce you into the room for your first meal as a married couple.
6pm – 7pm – Break/Activity.
During this time, our team and your caterers will clear the tables and get ready for your evening reception. This is a great opportunity for you to take some time to freshen up, take a calm moment together or catch-up with your friends and family.
7pm – Evening Reception Begins.
Your evening guests (if you are having additional guests) will arrive at this time. If you are having a first dancing and cutting the cake, this is usually a good way to start the evening celebrations. Our wedding coordinator will ensure that all guests are where they need to be and everything runs smoothly.
8pm – 9pm – Evening Food.
This is usually something quick and easy for your guests to grab whilst they are getting a drink or taking a quick break from dancing; think pizzas, loaded fries or hot sandwiches.
The Day After Your Wedding
We will be in the barn early to gather your belongings and ensure they are packed up ready for you to load into your vehicles. Suppliers can also access the barn from 8am to collect anything you may have hired for the day – don’t worry we will be there to greet them if you are still recovering in the lodges.
Check out for all guests staying at Wold View Farm is 12pm, but as the happy couple you get an extra night in our honeymoon suite to relax, enjoy the hot tub, open your gifts and share all the memories from your big day.

When we first visited Laura and Daniel at the venue myself and now husband instantly knew it was the place for us! The venue and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. Everything just felt really wholesome and nothing was ever a problem. The ambience and setting was just perfect for an autumnal wedding. The outdoor area and field is great for lawn games and seating. Having the Friday to set up made the whole process easy and calm ready for the big day! The lodges are absolutely gorgeous and have everything you need. Spending time in the lodges the day before and after the wedding makes such a difference and having the hot tubs is a treat to rest those dancing feet with a bottle of bubbly! Daniel and Laura are really lovely and down to earth people and genuinely care about their venue and couples. One big tick for us was having our little doggy Lola with us for the whole weekend, this really was a game changer as we didn’t want our pooch to miss out on our special day. We miss our day so much and wish we could do it all over again! We are returning on our first wedding anniversary for a lovely weekend away to reminisce. We highly recommend this venue for its unique setting, relaxed atmosphere and everything else in between. We fell in love instantly and booked that day! Wold View Farm covers everything! Firstly, Friday-Sunday use! Not many venues offer this, usually you have less than 24 hours before the next wedding is in! Complete free rein on how you wish your wedding to look and who you book for your vendors. Enough lodges for your Friday-Saturday chosen guests to prioritise bridal party and immediate family! We really wanted a venue that allowed dogs too, as we really wanted them in our wedding photos. Dan, Laura & team were absolutely brilliant on our wedding day. I have many complications the week before with my singer and coordinator cancelling however Dan & Laura really ensured that the whole day ran smoothly. If only we could do it all over again! The thoughtfulness from Dan & Laura to leave us a bottle of champagne & a card on our wedding night, and to offer the newlyweds an extra night the Sunday night in the lodges really made the weekend end on a special high note! HOWEVER the minute we went to Wold View we just knew, this was the venue for us. Everything was absolutely perfect. The venue, the surroundings and both Dan and Laura were everything we were looking for. From the first viewing to our special day, nothing was ever too much. Dan and Laura went above and beyond to ensure our day was everything we ever envisioned. They were on hand for everything, the planning, set up and the big day would not have been the same without them and we can’t thank them both enough. The staff on the day were also amazing. The lodges are all beautiful and the perfect place for both getting ready and ending the night for both us and the guests. There is literally nothing we would change about our day.. it was perfect. When me and my now husband started planning our wedding we were wanting a marquee.. HOWEVER the minute we went to Wold View we just knew, this was the venue for us. Everything was absolutely perfect. Dan and Laura are both so laid back and it made everything about planning a wedding so much less stress, they were on hand with any questions and queries we had from us booking the venue 2 years in advance right down to the day! The venue is stunning and offers so much potential for you to really get creative and make the day exactly as you envision rather than having to match existing decor etc. but equally there is so much included, the best addition by far being 3 on site log cabins fully equipped with any essentials you might need and hot tubs! The venue has great spaces for each part of the day with a separate ceremony room and main barn which was large enough for all our guests to be seated and the dance floor set up meaning you can avoid any time consuming room turn arounds. There is also great outdoor space which even though it rained all day meant we were still able to have our canapés and drinks reception outside under the covered and heated cart shed with outdoor bar. The 3 lodges included in the wedding package are great feature all with hot tubs and were great for getting ready in and relaxing the following day. The venue offers drinks packages which they were willing to tailor specifically to our requests which was very much appreciated. Finally, Daniel and Laura who own and run the venue couldn’t do enough to help from our first viewing, on the day and throughout the process. They even allowed us to bring along two tractors! All of our guests commented on how lovely the venue was and how good Daniel was on the day coordinating everything! Dan and Laura were absolutely amazing in assisting with anything they could! Great hosts who were always attentive to anything for our guests and ourselves!
