Nestled within magnificent gardens, this warm, welcoming setting is ideal for both intimate and extravagant milestone celebrations alike. The destination borders Kent and Sussex, making it easily accessible from London and the South East.

Facilities and Capacity

Wadhurst Castle welcomes you to celebrate your entire wedding day with them or just your ceremony or just your reception following a church or ceremony elsewhere. When booking this venue, you will have exclusive use of the castle with its magnificent rooms together with the light and airy Carriage Barn and the beautiful gardens. You and your guests will be able to admire stunning views across the uninterrupted Sussex countryside as you celebrate here. During warmer months, you and your partner can exchange vows in one of the two licensed garden spaces. Celebratory drinks and tantalising canapes can then be enjoyed on the South Terrace. In addition to the gardens, you have the beautiful castle rooms and the Carriage Barn offering further licensed ceremony and dining choices. The castle can then accommodate 130 for evening parties. A choice of recommended caterers is offered alongside our no corkage offering.

Transatlantic wedding!Transatlantic wedding!
We can't begin to thank the incredible staff at Wadhurst Castle for the most beautiful wedding for our daughter and son in-law's wedding. We are from the United States and the groom is from the United Kingdom. Susan made communicating from thousands of miles away so easy. Despite the time difference, she was always so prompt and professional with our many questions. Due to covid, the wedding was postponed twice. Susan and her team assisted us in moving everything to the new dates with ease. She recommended the most fabulous vendors and they were all as wonderful as she said they would be. We brought some of the wedding items, decorations etc. to the castle the day before the wedding. On the wedding day, I was delighted to see all of the items had been placed where they should be and I did not have to do a thing! We had a Wadhurst Castle daytime and evening wedding coordinator at our disposal throughout the day. Both of these ladies were marvelous in keeping everything on schedule and assisting with anything we needed. Everyone raved about the gorgeous venue, the food, bar service, flowers, and entertainment. Wadhurst Castle is even more beautiful in person. Thank you to all for making the day absolutely magical for the bride and groom and all who attended! It was perfect!It was perfect!
We had our wedding reception at Wadhurst Castle last Saturday and we couldn't have been happier. Firstly the venue is simply stunning both inside and out. There are so many different options for your ceremony and wedding breakfast that the UK weather need not be an issue. Every member of the Wadhurst Castle team is friendly, efficient and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We both felt completely at home on the day and didn't have to lift a finger. We could not recommend this venue you more. It was perfect.We had our wedding reception at Wadhurst Castle last Saturday and we couldn't have been happier. The 'Wow' Factor!The 'Wow' Factor!
Wadhurst Castle just has the "wow" factor and made for a maigcal wedding day for my partner Gil and I. It took a while to find our perfect venue as we wanted somewhere that catered for a small wedding and that was comeptitive in terms of price and Wadhurst really delivered. What sets it apart from other similar venues is that it is a very flexible space, with stunning surroundings that are exclusively yours for the day. The interior is a really grand space, a 19th century style mansion and we had our ceremony in the drawing room, which was perect as it large and airy and looks out onto the stunning Sussex countryside. Our reception was in the extensive gardens surrounding the castle, the grandeur leaving us feeling liked we had stepped onto the set of Downtown Abbey at times. Dinner was in the Orangery, which again offered a wonderful backdrop. Looking out at the sun dappled fields as the conversation flowed and night fell was something really special. Weddings are really nerve-wracking occasions but Danya, who looked after us so ably on the day, and Susan, who was always on hand in the lead-up, were absolutely amazing. So much so that Danya stayed on after hours when our cab did not arrive at the end of the evening. We had our Civil ceremony in late September at Wadhurst. I instantly fell in love with the venue when I came across it online and when Susan showed us around in person it was even more exquisite. The castle, grounds and barn have been maintained to an excellent standard and everything was still in full bloom towards late September. We genuinely had the most magical day, so many of our guests commented to say it was like a fairy tale and one of the best wedding venues they had been to, it was one of the best decisions we made in the entire wedding process. What was even more apparent was just how attentive and helpful the staff were throughout the planning process. We had a lot of anxiety as we didn't have much time to plan and book vendors, but Susan instantly put us at ease and made so many great suggestions to ensure the day ran smoothly. We couldn't recommend Wadhurst enough, if you are lucky enough to book it for your wedding we guarantee you you will not be disappointed!!We had our Civil ceremony in late September at Wadhurst. Jonny and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything that you have done in the lead up to our wedding and the actual day itself! From the very first day that I met you Sue, I felt so happy and content that Wadhurst Castle was the right place for us to tie the knot and I wasn’t wrong! You allowed us to see our vision through and was so accommodating in making it happen, I just can’t thank you enough!! Clare, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you at our final details meeting and as soon as we both realised we had cocker spaniels that was it...I honestly can’t thank you enough for dressing the venue so beautifully, looking after Coco and ensuring the day run smoothly! As you both know Jonny and I are both pretty laid back but you allowed us to be on our special day, we didn’t feel stressed or worried about anything but that is down to you for making everything so amazing!!! Wadhurst Castle was the second venue we looked at and we instantly fell in love with it and all the decadent English charm and picturesque views it brought with it. We had 6 other viewings booked at different venues however over the next week, so we decided to do those anyway. To make sure we had ticked all our options. We had originally wanted an outdoor, barn themed wedding so a castle was a big step away from this! Even after seeing all the other venues we couldn’t help but keep comparing them to Wadhurst and none of them even came close. It was final, Wadhurst had won over our hearts and really was love at first sight for us. Who couldn’t help but fall in love with the sprawling green lawns overlooking the sheep, the beautiful rose gardens, convenient walled ceremony area and the amazing and historic interiors. It was everything we wanted in a venue, and the lovely Venue Manager Susan, was an extra added bonus for us and truly a wedding saviour and guru for us! We have both always had a love for castles and history. So we seize every opportunity and trip away as an occasion to visit a new castle. Getting married in a castle is truly us. We wanted to say a sincere and heartfelt thank you for Saturday. I’m sure every bride and groom say it but it’s a day we’ll never forget. Everything in the run up to the event was so well organised and no request or question was too small, which really helped to put us at ease. As a result, I felt no nerves at all on the wedding day! We all agree we had the most wonderful day... everything went so smoothly and even the sun shone for us enabling the ceremony to take place in the walled garden which was Amy’s wish. Your help with all the finer details... positioning of flowers on lapels, order of entrance into walled garden, setting out all the accessories and so much more was greatly appreciated. From the day we first viewed Wadhurst Castle we knew it was right for us and so perfect in every way... the Castle itself has an amazing warm and homely feel and the views and gardens are stunning! We have had so many compliments about our special day from family and friends and are still chatting about the events of the day and enjoying the treasured memories and photographs. We really appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make such an event so successful.
