Lowry is a dramatic, award winning landmark located at the heart of contemporary Salford Quays, only a few miles away from Manchester city centre.
Our contemporary arts venue offers a range of unique spaces to create your perfect day.
Our circular Compass Room is truly stunning. Privately located on the top floor of the building, the space is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows which give a 360-degree view of Salford Quays. A private balcony also means that you and your guests can step outside to enjoy the magnificent views. The Compass Room comes with the option of lighting the room with a bespoke canopy of fairy lights.
The Compass Room can accommodate upto 150 for a ceremony and 200 for a reception.
For ceremonies and smaller receptions, choose from either our Hexagon and Pier Eight rooms, which are intimate spaces with fantastic waterside views.
We understand that every wedding is as individual and unique as every bride and groom and we pride ourselves on our bespoke service. We believe that our special day should not have to fit into a package - each detail no matter how large or small should be exactly how you want it to be.

We believe wedding packages are the move convenient and cost-effective way to plan and organise all the essential elements of your Wedding and have put together two great packages. Our all-inclusive wedding packages include Venue hire, catering with customisable menus and drink options. We also provide dedicated event coordinators to assist couples in bringing their unique vision to life along of optional upgrades to make the day exactly how you imagine.

Jill and her colleagues stepped in when we were let down by another venue just 2 weeks before our wedding. They made it a wonderful day and took all the stress out of it. We only wish we had booked there earlier. The location is great; the Compass Room is one of the best venues around with amazing views at sunset and through the day which our guests all loved. - DDanielle and Simon28/12/2023The perfect venue for a perfect day The perfect venue for a perfect dayWe rated our experience as 5 stars without hesitation…we quite literally had the best day of our lives and we can’t thank our wedding coordinator Tasha along with Victoria, Alex and the team enough. They couldn’t have done any more for us and all of our guests agreed. We really felt like they did everything to accommodate all of our special requests both before and during the day which all helped towards making our day perfect. In the build up Tasha was so helpful and it’s only now that we’ve realised how important it is to have that level trust and faith in our wedding coordinator. Then on the day the communication from Victoria and Alex meant that we knew exactly what was going on and they answered all the questions we had. They helped the day flow really smoothly and it felt relaxed and fun! There was a very brief issue with the sound but it wasn’t a problem and again, they kept us in the picture the whole time and it was obvious they were doing as much as they could to fix it. Everyone went above and beyond…Victoria spent ages moving all of our music across to The Lowry device and I noticed her topping up the sweets in the evening which was much appreciated and Alex handed me a glass of Prosecco every time I saw him! He was also an amazing DJ at the end of the night! The bar staff were lovely too and also super helpful, warming baby food and grabbing me a glass of water when I needed one! We absolutely loved having the 3 different rooms to move between, they all looked beautiful too, just as we’d imagined them to look. Loads of of guests commented about it the venue too, the effect of the lights in the Compass room once it went dark was incredible. We had lots of compliments about the food too which we echoed, it was all delicious and the service was fantastic. We can’t say enough positive things about our wedding experience at The Lowry and want to thank Tasha and the team from the bottom of our hearts. Everything was absolutely perfect - we loved every minute of it! The two rooms we used were lovely and the layout for the evening and the ceremony was perfect. The food was delicious, everybody especially enjoyed the evening food (and the wine!). Jayne and Alex were brilliant. I honestly don't think we could have picked a better venue.Thank you so much and thanks for all of your help with the planning and accommodating everything we wanted. Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Everywhere! The building is iconic with great architecture so there are some great photography spots within the building. The surroundings of Salford Quays means you can get some great waterside shots too!

The Compass Room certainly has the wow factor - a circular shaped room surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, add in the fairy lights and there is no other venue like it. The building itself is full of great architecture, so you can get some outstanding wedding photographs.

The Lowry is a not for profit organisation and a registered charity. All income supports our world-class theatres programme, the care and display of the LS Lowry collection, our exhibitions programme and our life changing community and education work.
