About The Plough Inn
The Plough Inn dates back as far as the 15th century when it began life as a small farm and coaching inn. Our beautiful Oak Barn dates back as far as the 13th century and was transported from its home in the Welsh hills to the village of Eaton during the late 20th century where it was carefully restored by master craftsmen to create our wedding and event venue.
With its idyllic ambience, excellent catering and ideal mix of accommodation, The Plough Inn offers the perfect setting for any event with a difference!
We cater for small or large parties and can do everything to make your special occasion as distinctive or as traditional as you wish.
Our medieval oak barn is licensed to hold Civil Ceremony Weddings (for up to 85 guests), vow renewal ceremonies, naming ceremonies, birthday, retirement and anniversary celebrations, funeral and memorial receptions, meetings and conferences. We can comfortably accommodate up to 115 guests for your celebration in The Oak Barn for your wedding breakfast and evening reception (We can cater for up to 150 guests with the use of a marquee extension for in the evening only).
In addition to our stunning Oak Barn, we also offer the beautiful addition of our Orangery, which provides the perfect setting for intimate ceremonies and elegant drinks receptions. With it’s beautiful natural light and charming atmosphere, the Orangery is an ideal space for creating unforgettable moments.
The Plough Inn also offers 17 en-suite bedroomed accommodation including, our stunning wedding suite, double, twin and family rooms for you and your guests.

Don't fancy a full traditional meal? Not a problem! We have some great options to have an informal Wedding Breakfast or even just an Evening Reception from £18 per person!

From start to finish, The Plough exceeded every single expectation we had. The oak barn is completely stunning and our guests were honestly overwhelmed by how beautiful it was. We had so many people tell us it was the most stunning venue they’d ever been to and one of our guests even said it was the best food they had ever tasted in their life. The Winter Package was unbelievable value and everything ran so smoothly from ceremony to reception. The team at The Plough were exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they supported us throughout the whole planning process, on the day itself, and even the day after. They were warm, organised, reassuring, and genuinely invested in making our wedding perfect... and they absolutely did!! The rooms are gorgeous, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. Also very handy to stumble across at midnight! The breakfast the next morning was such a lovely way to end the celebrations with our loved ones- delicious, relaxed, and thoroughly enjoyed by every single person. We honestly couldn’t recommend The Plough Inn more. It’s a magical venue with an amazing team and we’re so grateful for the memories they helped us create. From the moment I saw the barn I knew I wanted to get married there, it is like it has been taken of the pages of a fairytale. It is a perfect size for those who don't want a massive wedding, cosy yet still spacious. The staff were welcoming, friendly, responsive and helpful thought the planning process. We had a number of adults guests who wouldn't eat the adult meal due to additional needs and the venue was very accommodating and understanding if this without charging extra to cater for this as some venues do. The food was amazing! One aspect I was nervous about was having to choose from a set menu as these are often small, overly fancy meals that people either don't eat or are hungry afterwards and originally during our planning process we wanted an afternoon tea during the day and pizza vans in the evening, but oh my did The Plough squash that notion 😍 the food was incredible and even guests who didn't think they'd eat certain things cleared their plates! Not one guest had anything negative to say or any complaints. We had several guests commenting on the venue and saying that this was their favourite wedding they had attended. The day didn't feel rushed at any point and the flow as suggested by the team was perfect. For those staying over, the rooms are lovely as is the breakfast! One thing we were also concerned about was wheelchair accessibility for one of our guests as often venues claim to be accessible but they're not really very good. This is not the case for the Plough, if this is something you are concerned about/need to prioritise then I can recommend The Plough for this also. However the accessible bedrooms bathroom needed more adaptions but this is something the plough have already got in the works for 2026. The first time we visited to look around we knew it was right because we got such a good vibe from the place and their lovely staff. This continued through the meetings leading up to the day and on the day itself we were very much looked after and guided by their knowledgeable team. The food was amazing, the venue is amazing. Would definitely recommend.Wow what an amazing day we had. It was everything we were hoping for- chilled!
