Colshaw Hall is a must-see Cheshire Wedding Venue! This luxurious and exclusive country estate is one of the most desirable venues to marry. You get an impressive 300 acres all to yourself and the chance to tie the knot, celebrate and rest your head in one idyllic location.
Colshaw Hall features a beautiful Grade II Hall, the perfect backdrop for photos and allows you to spend the night with your closest family and friends on your wedding day. The house has three reception rooms and seven luxurious en-suite bedrooms. With courtyard cottages and eco pods, the venue can sleep up to 50 on the estate itself.
One of the best features of this breathtaking place is a stunning Makeup Lounge, which is an elegant hair and makeup space to share with your wedding party. With a bespoke design and luxuriously appointed, the lounge is one of our couple's favourite spaces. Not to be missed either is The Den! A bespoke space to play table football or table tennis, relax with friends and enjoy drinks before your big ceremony.
The Stables Ceremony Barn at Colshaw Hall is a dedicated space for your ceremony. The leaded windows, oak beams and stunning marble flooring provide an elegant setting, with a view of the lake and fountain at the front. Surrounded by immaculate gardens, the Peel Suite is a grand space for an impressive occasion. The Peel Suite has a stylish bar and Pavillion for your drinks reception. From the suite, you can enjoy views across the gorgeous walled garden, which is perfect for wedding photos or a drinks reception on warmer days.
When you book at Colshaw Hall, you get a wedding coordinator to help you throughout the day. Many extras are included in the price that other venues may charge for. For example, we have a toastmaster to guide you and your guests throughout the day.

It’s a beautiful venue with lots of flexible options to stay on site or opt for hotels to stay nearby. It also had tonnes of different rooms and spaces meaning our older relatives or toddlers all had a space they could chill out in and feel well looked after. It also offers some great inside and outside options. So for us - even though the weather was quite mixed on the day itself- it meant we had great photo opportunities both inside and outside the house, with stunning gardens, gorgeous ceremony room and beautiful modern rooms. A huge unspoken benefit (which often doesn’t get talked about when you look around wedding venues) is how utterly amazing the staff are. From start to finish, everybody we met was incredibly helpful and friendly. No ask was too big or too small for them. We found it quite daunting looking around for the right suppliers initially but they helped recommend some amazing people to work with at fair prices. They guided us through the whole process and helped with all the logistics of getting everything set up. They really looked after us and truly cared about making our wedding day as successful possible. It will be a day we remember for the rest of our lives, and that is largely down to this beautiful venue and all the hard work from the Colshaw team. It was the first and only venue we visited as we knew straight away it was the one. We’ve had nothing but compliments from all our guests since the wedding, it was honestly the best day EVER! And a special thank you to Hannah, Tracy and all the staff you are all amazing and I cannot thank you enough. I wish we could do it all again! What can I say about Colshaw Hall? We just wanted to keep coming and bringing family and friends to view the venue. When we booked our perfect day, we managed to twist Davids arm to give us the Venue for the day after our wedding so we could take it all in and enjoy it all. When the big day arrived the whole team were there to help with absolutely everything, the rain came down hard all day, this did not matter to us one bit, the whole day was magical. Our co-ordinator Sarah was just perfect she was with us for the both days. Sarah even went out for the food we ordered so we didn’t have to. Ian our master of ceremony was the perfect gentleman throughout our special day. Barretts the food was absolutely amazing, even today people are still talking about the food and presentation, thank you so much. Floradecor- is the venues florist they worked so hard to give us the most perfect ceremony, everybody was amazed by the flowers and setup. the flowers were also bought into the main area which is a massive benefit. I will add some photos of our flowers that we had for our September wedding. To top it off it was Grahams birthday too. Last but not least we had SMH photography wow just wow! Their professional and empathy was outstanding! We were nervous about this I don’t why as Steve and Sandra made us both feel absolutely amazing! When we got a sneak peek of the photos they took we were both very emotional and blown away. We still find it extremely hard to decide what photos to put on show and give to family and friends. Even to this day we still admire there hard work. Thank you all so much for all your hard-work, we would love to do this all again and hopefully when we get to 10 years we would definitely review our vows. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Every wedding is special at Colshaw Hall. There are some weddings that have had stories behind them that will stay with us forever but we treat every wedding as a unique experience so choosing the best one is simply not possible!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Speak to your venue as soon as you've booked. We know what works at the venue and what doesn't and our team will be here to give you full support. Think about what's important to you and let go of the stuff that's not really important. Consider other months aside from summer - a winter or autumnal wedding is equally special and often costs less too.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Flowers were once used dried as confetti from a garden of a family member that couldn't be at the wedding. There wasn't a dry eye in the house!

Luxurious, unique, breathtaking, unbeatable, memorable
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many! That's one of the reasons our couples choose us - The Magnolia Garden, The Japanese Garden, Top of the Stairs in the Hall, on the bridge in front of the lake and fountain. We can't choose a favourite!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We've had many - including cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, Mark Cavendish (multiple) winner of Tour de France. Many of the Coronation Street Cast including Cath Tyldesley who tied the knot here, Love Islanders and premier league footballers. We are an exclusive estate and we are able to provide privacy and confidentiality for those that need it.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Risotto Balls or Spring Rolls - every time. Although every canape Barrett's Event Caterers create is very special!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We get to sample lots of left over wedding cake - this tends to be sampled at the end of a wedding so we will go with that!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Possible our luxurious Makeup Lounge which is a dedicated room for getting ready or The Den where the Groomsmen can play table football, enjoy a beer or kick back and relax before the ceremony. Or the fact you can tie the knot, celebrate, party and stay the night all in one location.
