Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We cannot possibly describe the ‘BEST’ wedding that’s happened, they have all been fantastic! Some have been larger gatherings in a marquee on the lawn, some have been intimate ceremonies in our green lounge. But one thing we can say... they all have something in common – love. Which in our book means they have all been the best.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Be organised. Remember to ask venues and event coordinators as many questions as possible. Make notes of questions to ask when they pop into your head at the most unreasonable timing.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One couple created personalised “welcome kits” for their guests, filled with local treats, hand-written notes, and even a custom map of the area. It was such a thoughtful way to make everyone feel at home and added a truly personal element to the day. Another personal touch is organising babysitters for the parents so they could enjoy some evening entertainment child-free!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
A clear winner on most days would be on the banks of Loch Ness, the large stretch of water surrounded with rolling hills is quite the backdrop in all seasons. For indoor photos, it’s quite hard to beat a roaring log fire in our lounge.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Our lips are sealed! But we will say - every couple who chooses our venue gets the red carpet treatment, whether they're on the cover of magazines or making memories for their own storybook.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Mull cheddar and Highland Gouda aebleskiver pancake– cheese heaven!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
You cannot beat a bacon buttie
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Having Loch Ness as our neighbour is quite unique. A wonderful backdrop and great boasting rights!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We’re incredibly proud of the way we make each couple’s day feel truly personal. Each wedding is shaped around the couple, their story, and their dreams. That, and our warm, welcoming team, and amazing food are what make The Lovat so special.
