Weddings at The Hall are very special. Our gorgeous hall is full of relaxed charm and is a magical place for celebrations at any time of year. Nestled in the heart of Exeter’s historic West Quarter, a stones throw from the Quay, the Cathedral and next door to St Mary Steps Church dating back to 1150, it’s an ideal place to make memories with your loved ones.

The Hall is a Grade 2* former Sunday School and Theatre which has been painstakingly restored over 10 years. The Hall hosts no more that 12 Weddings per year to keep them special. We have homely seating, vintage tableware and atmospheric lighting rigs, and we can arrange and dress The Hall exactly as you wish. We can work with your planner or provide excellent staff and manage everything so you can relax and concentrate on more important things.

The Hall Exeter can cater to 75 seated guests for dinner, 100 in theatre style seating for ceremonies and 120 standing for parties. Our caterer, Bel’s Kitchen, is well known as one of the region’s best private chefs and can create a wonderful menu tailored to your needs. We can also host stag and hen nights and evening-only parties. Our vintage cutlery and tables make dining unique and utterly beautiful.

Perfect venuePerfect venue
We had our wedding reception at The Hall and the day ran so smoothly thanks to Leah and the staff. The venue is such a lovely space with character and charm. The catering from Bel's Kitchen was incredible, too. We had a silent disco, The Hall's specialty, and it worked so well. Held a fundraising drinks party at The Hall with Isy catering for 85 people last night in the most beautiful part of Exeter. The food was delicious, probably the best food I've ever eaten at a drinks party, the wine was good and the waitresses were extremely attentive. The whole evening was a huge success and seemed seamless. Thank you to the whole team - fabulous venue and team. Great venue with super helpful staff, great communication and advice in the build-up to the event, as well as friendly staff on the night. I had a silent disco birthday party here and had so many of the guests come up to me and say they wanted to do the same for theirs! This venue is brilliant, versitile and well managed. The decorations were perfect. The attached caterer Isabel's food went down brilliantly with the guests and she accomodated the dietary requirements we had with ease. Thank you so much to Leah and the team for helping us to host a 70th birthday party for my mother-in-law. Nothing was too much trouble, either in the build-up and on the night and we were able to adapt the package to what we needed, which was incredible value. The Hall looked amazing, the silent disco and photo booth were a hit with the guests and everyone had an amazing. We hosted our office meeting and Christmas party at The Hall and we had an amazing time! Everyone loved the venue, with its wooden floors, sensor lit staircase to the mezzanine a lovely touch and the services supplied in general by Leah and a very well-organised Team. The food was served by Isabel from BelsKitchen which was out of this world, creating a wonderful ambience for our staff and whole vibe of the day and evening was fabulous😁 You really looked after us.We hosted our office meeting and Christmas party at The Hall and we had an amazing time! I recently used The Hall for my birthday celebrations and it was PERFECT. The Hall itself is beautiful, well set-up, with dozens of thoughtful touches and gizmos to make your event super special. Everything was so easy. The team that work there are friendly, communicative, helpful and fun - from the original booking, to encompassing my ideas and changes, to being brilliant on the day, and feeling like part of your party.
