We can't quite put into words how amazing our wedding day was but we will certainly try. Below are some of the 'headlines' for just how wonderful our wedding day at The Gardens was:
- The planning period was sensational
- The execution of our ideas was amazing
- The staff were incredible and all so lovely
- The food was absolutely delicious
- The running of the day was impeccable.
From our very first meeting with Bex, when being shown around the venue, we fell in love. We looked at other venues (a lot of others) and we kept comparing it to The Gardens and I can't tell you how happy we were to choose the venue for our special day.
The Bride, Bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride had the pleasure of getting ready in the beautiful dressing room at The Gardens. We had tea & coffee facilities, an ice bucket for the bubbly, we ordered the brunch which was wonderful (the Bride is Coeliac and they provided a delicious gluten free platter just for her). The lighting in that room is absolutely stunning for photographs and it was just the lovely chilled morning that was required, ahead of all the excitement later on.
On the day, we were at the mercy of the Great British weather and despite it being beautiful the whole morning, the rain came in just before the ceremony and the Bride was quietly (or not quietly) upset about not being able to have the ceremony in the actual gardens, as she'd dreamt about and although there was an indoor option / contingency plan, the staff went along with the (probably crazy) decision of the Bride to go ahead with it being outside - the staff moved flowers inside, then outside, inside and finally outside and gave umbrellas and blankets to our guests (who may have also not enjoyed the Bride's decision) but not once did the staff make the Bride feel silly - the deciding factor was actually Bex who said to the Bride "if you always wanted it outside, then you do it outside - we can sort the umbrellas and blankets". The Bridesmaids, the Bride & Father of the Bride walked down the aisle in a fleeting torrential downpour but by the time the Bride reached the gazebo, the sun came out and the rest of the day was dry - the staff did everything to make the Bride's dream come true, despite the not-so-normal decision to walk through the rain.
The canapes, reception drinks and prosecco served from the horse box were all served in a timely manner following the ceremony. The guests were free to mill about in the beautiful setting, whilst the Bride & Groom had their photos taken. All guests were taken into the Tipi for the wedding breakfast and the staff played a great part in our Wedding Breakfast entrance (one of our highlights of the day). The service of the food was incredible, so many of our guests have said how brilliant the service was and many have commented on just how lovely the food was too - all have said that it's the best food they've eaten at a wedding. Bex was brilliant throughout and even ran a few errands for the Bride (getting her phone from the dressing room) and for the Father of the Bride (getting his glasses from the car, so he could read his speech) - so many little bits of attention to detail like this made us feel even more special on our wedding day and that's down to the staff all being so kind.
Following the wedding breakfast, tea & coffee was served and we selected the Port Station (something the Groom was really keen to have) and again Bex made sure that she found him to have his glass (or two) of Port before it was all gone.
Bex pulled us to one side, to tell us she would be going home for a well-deserved rest, after running the day section of our wedding and that she would leave us in the very capable hands of the evening staff. We were really beautifully looked after by everyone and Louis was brilliant (apologies if we don't have the correct spelling for his name). We were kept on track with the flow of the day, from cake-cutting, to first dance, to the evening buffet being opened (and the Bride being told where her gluten free pizzas would be) - again we just felt we were in very capable hands from the moment we walked into The Gardens and that remained up until the last minute of our day. The DJ was brilliant - We had curated a playlist we wanted and that was absolutely fine with the DJ and he played as many tracks as he possibly could from our long list - it was honestly everything we wanted and more.
The day after, we came to collect all of our bits and pieces and saw both Bex & Louis who were both so lovely, congratulating us and making sure we'd had an excellent day but also busy getting ready for their next wedding in a couple of days.
If you live in Kent....or even if you don't live in Kent, you will absolutely love it at The Gardens and will not regret booking your wedding there for a second. Just book it - it's incredible and we wish we could do our wedding day all over again!
Thank you so much to all staff that made our day one to remember!
