The Castle Westenhanger has two spacious dressing areas on the ground floor and first floor of the manor house, allowing you and your partner to get ready at the venue while remaining completely separate. The Elizabeth Suite and The Discovery Room have recently been renovated to look spectacular in your wedding photos while ensuring you feel relaxed, comfortable, and at home. There is something so romantic about getting ready on separate floors of the manor house.

Choose from our equally spectacular indoor and outdoor ceremony areas, seating up to 120 guests. Gather your loved ones on the castle lawn for a fairytale ceremony under the romantic thatched roof gazebo, surrounded by ancient ruins. Or invite your guests into the cosy and quirky banqueting hall, a medieval setting with beautiful architectural features and a roaring fire pit.

Post-ceremony, you and your guests can enjoy refreshments and games on the castle lawn against the backdrop of the impressive manor house or in the hidden bar inside the castle’s historic turret. Invite your guests to join you in the elegant marquee with views across the castle lawn.

I even get a bit choked up now thinking back to the day, because it was just so amazing. I actually had a friend compliment the service that they received during the wedding breakfast, she mentioned how organised it all was in comparison to another local venue they attended a wedding at, a week after ours. From the day we met Tania, whilst looking for my brothers wedding venue back in January 2023 (5 months before we even got engaged), I knew we would get married at Westenhanger. We enjoyed popping down to the venue a few times throughout the years to try the food, the wine and just to be in the grounds absorbing the atmosphere in this special place at the VIP taster days. The team are so accommodating, friendly and responsive, nothing is too much for them! We had so much good feedback from guests on the day, everyone saying how great the food & service was and how stunning the venue is. It really is hard to believe that the day happened as it passed by so quickly, but because of the team at Glow & Westenhanger we have the best memories that will last us a lifetime. I wish we could go back and do it all again! Westenhanger Castle will always hold a special place in our hearts. We knew it was the perfect venue from our first visit as the vibe is perfect and just what we dreamed of. The team are so helpful and the getting ready areas, gardens and ruins are simply stunning. We loved how it feels very intimate as all the guests are in one place and it is accessible for mobility needs too. Georgina was fantastic and she and the rest of the team ran a seamless operation we had to think about nothing except enjoying and soaking in our day. They truly thought about everything and made sure it all was perfect. The food was great and so many options, we could have chosen them all. Our guests loved the venue and we received so many compliments that it was the most amazing and well organised wedding they had been to. Truly nothing was too much trouble. Planning the day was a breeze with the Sonas system and for a type A bride like me, it was amazing to make sure that everything was organised in one place. The team are so responsive to questions queries and we visited the venue several times for open events before the big day helping us visualise and talk to the team about the day, they always seemed so excited to help us plan. Truly cannot fault the Castle Westenhanger it was the perfect choice for our wedding. Would not hesitate to recommend it to couples looking for a whimsical, beautiful, romantic venue. The admin system makes the organising process simple and stress-free, the team provide advice as you go. The venue itself is beautiful. The weather was not on our side, but the indoor ceremony was amazing (despite being a change of plan on the day). The food was delicious - loads of guests complimented it and there was a huge amount of choices. The service was professional and slick - we could not fault them. The spaces available to get ready in are excellent, really spacious and make the day feel so special. There are countless spots available for photo opportunities. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
In April 2024, Tyler & Daniel’s wedding was a true show-stopper. They entertained their guests with a pre-recorded comedy film of themselves, played during the ceremony. The film humorously poked fun at each other’s personalities, leaving everyone in fits of laughter. Tyler, who has worked with famous artists around the world, including Britney Spears, ensured their wedding had a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. A massive concert screen was set up in the garden, flanked by fire fountains, creating a dramatic path for the couple to walk down. Their first dance took place on the lawn, with live footage of the moment shown on the screen. As a grand finale, they hired a Fire Dancing company, with performers in stunning outfits, adding an electrifying spectacle to their celebration.

Open communication with your event manager is key! Make sure to share your timeline with your wedding party to ensure everything runs smoothly on the big day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of the most memorable moments was at Debbie & Vinny’s wedding on in June 2023. Their photographer organised a TABLE DASH, where each table ran over to the newlyweds, who were sitting on thrones, for fun and lively photo opportunities. The DJ called each table up, building excitement and encouraging everyone to outdo each other with their best poses. It was a blast!
