- CCharlie and Phil07/06/2021Amazing Service Amazing ServiceWe got engaged just before the first lockdown and as such ended up planning our whole wedding during the pandemic. Lauren (the hotel manager) was everything we could have wanted and more from a venue manager. She was kind, understanding and nothing was too big or small for her. She kept me sane and happy and was always willing to do anything she could to make our day wonderful, even with the restrictions. She communicated clearly and answered all of my many many questions. She has a unique gift for making you feel like you are her only concern. I found myself genuinely thinking we were her only wedding this year and next, which I know is not the case. The day went so smoothly and Lauren and the team worked with us to ensure the day ran exactly as we needed and wanted it to run. The team at the hotel were brilliant too, our guests commented on the good food, service and the effort the staff went to to keep everyone happy. Throughout the planning, run up to and the day of the Hotel was brilliant despite the ever changing restrictions. They are well equipped to deal with the changing reatrictions and understand the importance of keeping you and your guests safe and really work to make sure you and your guests are safe and comfortable with eveything. All of this meant that when we decided to do a re-do of our wedding next year The Dolphin Hotel was a no brainer for us. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We have a wedding where all of the flowers were hand made from paper by the bride. They took over 6 months to make... such dedication and they looked stunning!

Historic, charming, beautiful, elegant and unique.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The Dolphin lane is beautiful for some outdoor photos. The main staircase is a great choice too, we love seeing photos take place on there as it always looks so grand!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Not quite yet... although Jane Austen did celebrate her 18th birthday at hotel!
What’s your favourite canapé?
They are all so delicious... it is hard to choose!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Bacon rolls always go down well!
