Stunning VenueStunning Venue
We had the most incredible wedding at Rivervale Barn and would absolutely recommend the venue. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful wedding venues we have ever seen, and the setting, atmosphere and thoughtful layout made our day feel incredibly special. One of the things we loved most was the flow of the venue. Having the courtyard, tables and dancefloor all connected meant that everyone could be together in the evening, whether they wanted to dance or simply sit and chat. The bar is also in a fantastic location, and it felt like a lot of thought had gone into how the different spaces work together. The ceremony room is beautiful and light, with the windows at the back creating such a lovely setting, and the gardens looked stunning on the day. The Cornstore Barn was a gorgeous place to have our morning preparations and take photos, and it was incredibly special to stay there on our first night as husband and wife. We also really appreciated the little touches at the end of the evening, particularly the catering team leaving some of our wedding cake for us and packing away our belongings. Those things made such a difference after a very long day! A huge shout-out has to go to the catering team, particularly Maribelle and Andy, who went above and beyond for us. The canapés, three-course meal and evening pizza were all out of this world, and so many of our guests commented on the food. The crème brûlée in particular was a huge hit and was complimented by lots of our guests! Our events manager, Natasha, also worked incredibly hard to make our day special. As we aren't local, we couldn't always attend things in person, and Natasha joined us on countless Zoom calls and was always willing to help with our questions and requests. She did a fantastic job of keeping everything running smoothly and to time throughout the day, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our wedding rather than worrying about what was happening behind the scenes. We also really appreciated Rivervale's recommended supplier list. Knowing that the suppliers had worked together before gave us a lot of confidence, and it really did help everything run smoothly on the day. A particular shout-out goes to Senior Mac Photography, who were absolutely fantastic. Not only did they take incredible photos, but they also stepped in on countless occasions outside of their role as photographers — including helping the bride into her dress when there was an issue with the alterations and generally helping to make sure everything stayed on track. We would hugely recommend them! There were, however, a few things that we found frustrating and that we think future couples should be aware of. The accommodation arrangements were disappointing for some of our guests. Guests who had paid a significant amount to stay in the lodge weren't able to access their rooms until 3pm, despite our ceremony starting at 2pm and them needing time to get ready. This meant some guests had to use part of the reception to go and put their belongings into their rooms. Breakfast being served between 8–9am also felt very early after a wedding. Interestingly, guests who stayed at a nearby hotel for considerably less money had earlier check-in and later check-out, which was disappointing given the cost of the on-site accommodation. We also found some of the venue's rules around where guests could and couldn't go at different points during the day quite restrictive. We completely understand that a venue needs rules to keep everything running safely and smoothly, but at times it felt a little limiting, particularly given that we had paid a significant amount to have exclusive use of the venue. Similarly, the groom loved the new shepherd's hut as a space to get ready in, but felt he was ushered out of it quite quickly in the morning. It would have been really helpful to be able to leave some belongings there overnight and collect them the following morning, rather than having to arrange for everything to be left in someone's car. This added a little unnecessary stress on what was already a busy morning. That said, these frustrations didn't take away from what was ultimately a truly wonderful wedding day. Rivervale Barn is a stunning venue, the food was exceptional, the gardens and spaces looked beautiful, and the team worked incredibly hard to keep everything running smoothly. Our guests loved the atmosphere and the way the venue allowed everyone to feel together throughout the evening. We are so grateful to everyone at Rivervale Barn, especially Natasha, Maribelle and Andy, for everything they did to help make our wedding so special. Firstly, the venue is as lovely as the pictures. We were lucky enough with the weather to get married outside in the Spinney which made a gorgeous location and the outdoor garden was perfect for reception drinks, lawn games, and photos. Its also in a great location where guests didn't have to travel more than 15 minutes from their hotels. ( We recommended to our guests the Holiday Inn and Aviator in Farnborough). The thing that made our day so special though were the staff. Natasha (our events manager) was incredible throughout the whole process, reassuring us in the lead up that everything was taken care of and in hand. On the day, Natasha couldn't have done more and went above and beyond to ensure the day ran smoothly. From ushering guests, to moving welcome signs, keeping drinks topped up, and keeping everything on time! Natasha was such an important part of our day and such a lovely person, she really kept our nerves at ease and took all the worry and stress you'd expect on a wedding day away. Rivervale also has an excellent catering team, so many of our guests complimented how great the food was. The staff were also very attentive (and super smiley!), not only us but our guests had everything they needed cared for during the dinner. I (the bride) could not recommend highly enough the Rivervale Beauty Team, both girls are incredibly talented at what they do, my bridal party were so happy with their hair and make up and all commented on how it lasted all day and night (even in the August sunshine and through all the dancing! The groom also had his own prep space in the Shepherd Hut which included a speaker and air con, and made for the perfect space to get ready on site. There's so many more compliments we could give! From start to finish, our experience at Rivervale Barn was absolutely amazing. From the very first time we were shown around, we felt supported, well-informed, and completely at ease. The communication throughout the entire planning process was excellent, with regular updates that meant we never had to worry or feel stressed. A huge thank you to our event manager, Natasha, who was simply incredible. She made sure everything ran smoothly on the day, kept me calm, ensured every detail was exactly as we had envisioned, and made everything look absolutely beautiful. Having someone so organised and caring by our side made all the difference. The food was fantastic and we received so many compliments from our guests. All food allergies were catered for ensuring every guest could experience a wonderful wedding breakfast meal. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful grounds and countless picturesque spots for amazing wedding photos. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more special. Rivervale Barn made our day so special and I had the most magical day. I wanted to feel like a princess and have the big beautiful wedding and I got exactly that. We were on a budget so did a lot of our own decorations and organising and didn’t use any of the recommended suppliers but Rivervale Barn weren’t fazed by this at all and made everything perfect. We had our wedding in June 2026. It was amazing we used Rivervale for our wedding reception and the staff were amazing and took care of everything. Natasha was our wedding planner and she could not have done more for us, she ensured my vision for the table decor came true and She ensured no one bothered me while I got ready unless absolutely necessary. My husband and I got married here last week and feel so lucky to have been able to do so!! The team at Rivervale Barn were absolutely incredible throughout the whole process, making sure we both felt comfortable with the plans and knew exactly what we were signing up for!! The venue itself is absolutely stunning and we were able to organise for our bridal party to stay on site with us in their beautiful lodge. We wanted to say a special thank you to Daniel, our event manager, who truly did go above and beyond for us when it came to planning and the actual day! He even helped me organise a surprise cheese stack cake for my husband! I felt so calm and relaxed on my wedding morning, and a lot of this is thanks to feeling entirely prepared because of Daniel and his team. The Most Perfect Accessible Day The Most Perfect Accessible Day
We had the most wonderful experience planning and putting together our dream wedding with the Rivervale team. We were worried we would never find a venue that was both wheelchair accessible and beautiful. We viewed many venues before Rivervale and had begun to give up hope. From the moment we saw the venue we knew it was the one, from the gorgeous exterior and the wonderfully subtle but extremely functional accessibility we immediately felt this was the place we wanted to say "I do" Marie and the whole team were so understanding and accommodating of my disabilities and did absolutely everything they could to ensure the day would run without an issue. The planning process is extremely thorough and the team is always happy to help if you have any additional questions. Our day went absolutely perfectly with everything falling into place just as it should have. The feedback we have received from family and loved ones has been nothing short of glowing. The food was absolutely incredible and many have said they wish they could eat it all again. The venue itself is gorgeous, functional and rustic and was just what we wanted. We 100% reccomend Rivervale Barn to anyone considering it as a venue, we hope to be back for friends weddings in the future! Anywhere in our gardens! Whether they're in full bloom in the summer months or the leaves are turning for autumn, you're always guaranteed a stunning backdrop.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Our lips are sealed. Rivervale Barn is delightfully secluded and this privacy and exclusivity is increasingly important to our guests, high-profile and otherwise. And so of course we'd never breathe a word.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Sirloin chips and bearnaise sauce - always a crowd-pleaser

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

It has to be a Woodfired Pizza!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The Spinney. Be at one with nature and tie the knot in The Spinney, our beautiful outdoor ceremony space. Just a few steps from the barn but with an enchanting sense of seclusion and privacy, The Spinney is the perfect way to make the most of good weather and the idyllic gardens at Rivervale Barn.
