ABOUT US
The Coach House is part of Mile Ash House, which was built in 1860 as a gentleman residence and comprises 2 buildings with a total of six boutique styled en-suite bedrooms.
Nestled beside Darley Park World heritage site and just a few minutes from Derby city centre our charming 19th century buildings blend individually styled bedrooms with rustic charm proving the perfect intimate setting for weddings and elopement celebrations.
Licensed to accommodate intimate wedding ceremonies of up to 26 guests using our indoor ceremony room and a maximum of 60 people when using our outdoor garden space, with overnight accommodation for up to 16 guests.
The main house has three upstairs bedrooms along with our ground floor ceremony/dining room and quirky bar with an option to open up the windows wide to provide an inside/ outside undercover bar.
We have a beautiful mature country garden to the side and rear of the property with undercover garden seating and plenty of room to hold outdoor ceremonies or celebrations.
The further three bedrooms are situated in the separate refurbished stable block within the private rear garden.
All rooms are individually styled by a local designer and we can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests overnight. All are en-suite with generous hospitality trays, bath robes, toiletries and mini fridges.
A delicious cooked breakfast is included in any overnight stay, and we also have off-road parking for 10 cars.

We can adapt to your vision and we know lots of tried and tested suppliers who can help you make your dream day a reality.
Pet friendly in all of our bedrooms and communal spaces so your furry friends can be included in your special day as much or as little as you want.
Stylish and quirky designed spaces meaning you don’t need to provide lots of additional decorations, we have plenty of photo opportunities around every corner.
Please note due to our location and proximity to neighbours we cannot cater for parties with loud music or rowdy late night revelry.

The rooms are comfortable and elegant and the bar - with free delicious chocolate brownies - is the perfect place to relax. As a venue, every are is taken into account to make sure everything is perfect and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Do you allow children?
Yes!
Children love weddings at The Coach House, we have lots to explore and small games and activities to keep small hands busy.
Children under 12 are charged at half price for food off of our regular menu's or we are happy to cook what they actually like to eat, full tummies are important to us!
Do you allow dogs?
Yes we love dogs and they are welcome in all parts of the hotel.
We've even had petting Llamas on the lawn in case you were thinking of larger furry animals!
Do you allow confetti?
Yes!
We love a confetti shot but please ask that you use flower petals so that we can keep our beautiful garden clean and tidy for all of our guests.
Do you provide food and cater for allergies?
Yes!
We love food and cook and prepare all of our food ourselves in house so we know exactly what goes into it, we are used to dealing will all kinds of allergies.
We have catered for full coeliac and vegan weddings and are happy to help you design a menu to meet your individual needs.
Do you allow music?
Yes!
We have bluetooth speakers you may connect to at any time during your time with us, we also allow musicians or singers with one small amp.
We are not a party venue and do not have a dance floor, and ask that all non resident guests leave site by 10pm.
Those guests staying overnight are welcome to use our small indoor bar area to enjoy after this time.
What time can I get married?
We are used to catering for ceremonies after 12 noon and can go as late as the local registrars allow, we don't have a set time to get married we leave that up to you.
