Weddings here on our 16th century organic farm are a relaxed affair. A stunning natural background, wild feasts cooked on open fires and lush accommodation for 36-70 people, make it perfect for group gatherings and memories that will last a lifetime.
Gather your friends and family and celebrate your wedding here with us. Get back to nature and sleep under the stars, at our family run, organic farm, near Hay on Wye. Nestled at the foot hills of the Welsh Black Mountains, on the border of Herefordshire & Wales. Enjoy home grown wild feasts, cooked from scratch on open fires. Roam freely on our 40 acres of farm, fields and forest, yours exclusively for your wedding celebration here with us.
SPACES: We have two gorgeous barns and stunning outdoor spaces including a wild woodland and an ancient orchard to choose for your ceremony, reception, dance and Epic Photo opportunities. And did we mention we have alpacas!!?? So if you are planning an outdoor element for your wedding, no stress if the weather turns bad we can change location to one of the barns even if we decide on the Day.
FOOD: We are South African and expert at fire cooking where all our food is carefully tended over the open flame. Enjoy our carefully curated canapes with cocktails or a crisp bubbly, followed by a lush main that your guests would have enjoyed watching it being cooked on the fires, served to the tables open loaded sharing platters, then finish off with a yummy pudding followed by evening food of sourdough pizzas hot from the wood fired oven. 3 course menus are available too. In Winter make more of the warm and cosy barn by a lush 3 course seated meal
ACCOMMODATION: 36 of your guests can be accommodated onsite in our beautifully restored, old stone Drovers cottages Or in one of our posh glamping safari tents, perched on decks with amazing rural views, all with private underfloor heated bathrooms, wood-burners and electric blankets. We can also accommodate more in our pop up bell tent village (10 fully furnished bell tents sleeping 2-4) with posh showers and toilets in recently converted shepherd huts). Enabling more of your guests to let their hair down and enjoy partying late into the night without worrying about how they will get back.
The venue can be booked for multiple days with no extra venue charge. And we are dog and horse friendly so you can feel free to bring yours.

We ensure there are no hidden costs, that's why we include everything in the venue hire fee (furniture, vat, staffing).
The onsite accommodation is the only extra we have which is normally paid by your guests. Most couples take the venue for 2 or more nights. There is no extra venue charge for this. Just the extra night accommodation and catering. Onsite Accommodation is available for 36 in permanent accommodation and then an extra 20-40 in a pop up bell tent village

After speaking to Kesri and the team this was solidified and no other venue came close - dog friendly, AMAZING food, alpacas & gorgeous accomodation- what more could you want?! We’re so glad that we went ahead with that decision, and chose Drovers to be the place we celebrated one of the most special days of our lives. Kesri and Lola were always just a message away when we had 100 questions during the build up, and they did all they could to help us get everything just the way we wanted. The team are so flexible with your choices and wishes, they did their best to accommodate to every wish or idea we had and wanted to get on board. What can I say... I fell in love with the farm, the family, the staff, the animals... The specifics on food and the accommodation etc are very easy to describe, but what is difficult to explain is how I feel about the family and the venue now. It almost feels like another home, and I am really looking forward to going back soon. For one short weekend we really felt like we were part of the family. Kesri and Paul made it so clear from the start that they would try and make whatever idea we had to come true. Luckily for them, we are pretty laid back people. The biggest and most important thing for us was that we, and our friends, felt comfortable and could enjoy the weekend as much as we possibly could. And they fulfilled that in every sense. Before the wedding, Lola and Kesri were really good with quotes, ideas, help, talking us through things and making sure we were really happy with everything. We also headed up to the venue for an open day and tried the INCREDIBLE food and had a good look around the cottages and the options for the ceremony. Paul showed us around and we had a really good laugh with him about ideas and what other people have done on site. We opted to have our ceremony in the woods, and it was truly beautiful. The sun came through the leaves and branches, and it is so quiet and peaceful. Then the drinks reception afterwards was a lot of fun. The bar is great, and all the team seem to get involved in making sure drinks are flowing. We had games and music and it felt really great in the shade of the sun. Then the team start to cook the food... in the courtyard with you. And people LOVE being able to see it being cooked in front of them. Service was great throughout the meal, and then we partied the night away... And I'm really glad to say that we got to party with the team. Marta (we love you!) and her daughter were dancing with us, Kesri and Paul joined us for toasts, and their children had a great laugh with us making cocktails and serving shots at the bar. And then we got to do it all again on the Sunday! I'll end by saying that it was genuinely getting a little awkward with the amount of our guests telling us how amazing everything was. This was no grand "pimp my wedding" style affair, but it was heartfelt, and done exceptionally well, and the two things that really made it were the amazing food and the incredible team. Everyone loved all the staff and the family, and every plate of food that was served was met with absolute joy, and whilst we (I) was happy to take a lot of the credit from our guests for a great wedding weekend, really it was down to Drovers to understand what we wanted, understand that (I think) we're on the same page in many ways, to deliver incredible food and drink, but mainly to just be themselves and to welcome us into their home for the weekend. Kesri, Paul and the whole team were wonderful, they were there when we needed help or advice but they left you to really make the place your own! From the first enquiry to the day after the wedding they were available via WhatsApp for every little question we had. The food and accommodation was amazing and we are still getting compliments on all of the weekend from family and friends. We were a bit worried the week of the wedding with the weather not looking good so we changed from the forest area to inside last minute, but this was still just as beautiful and we couldn't make the day better if we tried! From the moment we went for a viewing Kesri was welcoming, friendly and informative, I instantly had a good/excited feeling about drovers. This was the first venue we had viewed and so we went on to view other venues just in case, however no other venue matched the character, beauty and natural rustic aesthetics and we could not wait to book in our wedding with them. We got married just over a week ago and I could not have asked for a better day. So many of our guests are still saying how it was the best wedding they had been to. All the staff were friendly and assertive, food was delicious and everyone was able to move around for a more informal feel which allowed friends and family on both sides to socialise with one another. I am a huge animal lover and so having the horses and ponies walking up to me as my dad, bridemaids and I walk towards the barn from my cottage was incredible and helped settle my nerves. We were later on in the day also asked if we would like to feed the alpacas which I jumped at the offer. The cottages are beautiful and clean and the beds and pillows were really comfy. We will definitely be coming back to drovers at some point in the future for a stay and even some of our guests are wanting to also. From the moment we went for a viewing Kesri was welcoming, friendly and informative, I instantly had a good/excited feeling about drovers. This was the first venue we had viewed and so we went on to view other venues just in case, however no other venue matched the character, beauty and natural rustic aesthetics and we could not wait to book in our wedding with them. We got married just over a week ago and I could not have asked for a better day. So many of our guests are still saying how it was the best wedding they had been to. All the staff were friendly and assertive, food was delicious and everyone was able to move around for a more informal feel which allowed friends and family on both sides to socialise with one another. I am a huge animal lover and so having the horses and ponies walking up to me as my dad, bridemaids and I walk towards the barn from my cottage was incredible and helped settle my nerves. We were later on in the day also asked if we would like to feed the alpacas which I jumped at the offer. This made for a very special and wonderful wedding day. Everything went smoothly and I’m sure our daughter and son in law enjoyed their day immensely. A microphone was provided for the beautiful speeches that were made by members of family and friends. The barn area was the location for the evening dancing and seating was also in the barn and the covered bar outside. A fantastic wedding was held on this special day.The hosts were present constantly but discreet and not intrusive. This made for a very special and wonderful wedding day. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We genuinely love every single wedding we host, so choosing a “best” one just wouldn’t feel right — and honestly, impossible! What we adore most is that no two weddings here are ever the same. Each celebration is completely unique to the couple, love doesn't feel like a copy and paste affair.
Every wedding reflects the couple’s personality and love story — from Irish music and dog-mad celebrations to nerf-gun battles or quieter, intimate gatherings. Each one is special, memorable, and unmistakably theirs.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
We’ve hosted some incredible weddings, and one thing we’ve noticed is that the later the ceremony, the more relaxed the whole day feels.
eg. a 2/3pm ceremony tends to create a much calmer, more enjoyable flow than eg. a 12.00am ceremony . This means guests and especially the bride and bride-maids don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to do hair and makeup. The number of brides who have been so tired before the first dance has even started...
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
The most personal wedding touch we have seen this year (2025) would definitely be handmade guest bracelets on the guests table plan...where guests could take their bracelet earlier and it also revealed where you were sat!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
So many endless opportunities !! Each wedding genuinely finds a new spot! But for us the alpaca shots are unbeatable!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Cardinal black played here!!! The lead singer for this band got married here!!! Now they are touring Nashville !
What’s your favourite canapé?
Butternut and sweet potato chorizo croquettes!! They are to DIE for... The best ever x
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Mini pancakes with nutella! Ugh so good. - Don't forget the bananas!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The Barn. I designed and decorated the interiors which it has won awards for and has been featured in magazines. The lights are old olive buckets and the ceiling is corrugated iron with lighting that reflects off it. There are huge exposed beams and lovely chalkboards hung on meat hooks. It's well insulated and warm with underfloor heating. I love the polished concrete floors. It's an old building that is modern and contemporary on the inside with rustic elements, its got an industrial, rustic kinda vibe that's Super cool!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are proud of our staff and the work behind the venue, We only started last year properly and to increase our wedding bookings by 65% in one year is super incredible to us and shows our personal touch and the way we do things is needed in a market of wedding factories. We have built a venue which produces organic and unforgettable wedding "weekends" Where we get to know our couples and welcome them into the venue for a wedding which is customised to THEM... not a copy and paste of every couple that walks through the doors
