A wedding at Glewstone isn’t just beautiful, it feels different, like you’ve been let in on a very good secret.
Maybe it’s the old cedar tree that’s watched over hundreds of vows. Or the way guests seem to settle in and exhale, drink in hand, as the sun dips behind the Wye Valley. It could be the laughter around the the building and manicured grounds heard late into the night, or the moment a father-of-the-bride, glassy-eyed and half-lost in memory, says “You’ve thought of everything.”
We’re known for that! For making it yours. For noticing the quiet stuff. For guiding without taking over.
A Little Bit About Us
We’re a family-run, independent venue in Ross-on-Wye, set within a Grade II listed Georgian country house manor, surrounded by countryside and overlooking the Brecon Beacons. Over the years, we’ve hosted hundreds of weddings, but no two have ever felt the same, and that’s something we value.
Glewstone Court recently won Best Historic Wedding Venue in the West Midlands (2025) at The Wedding Industry Awards, and we’ve held the AA’s highest accolade for quality and service for eight years in a row. But to be honest? The real reward is seeing our couples still dropping in months later, glowing with memories of their special day flooding back.
What It’s Like To Work With Us
From the moment you step through the front door, it’s about you. We’ll sit down with you, get to know your story, your vision and your non-negotiables!
We’ll walk you through the house whilst showing you how the day might unfold, how the courtyard might feel at golden hour, how we can give you a breather between ceremony and speeches or how to make sure you get a moment just the two of you.
Our team, including your dedicated wedding coordinator Charles, is calm, kind, and ruthlessly prepared. We’re creative problem-solvers, early risers, and yes, we’ve always got a safety pin.
Multi-Day Hire: Extend the celebrations!
Some couples book an extra day. Not because it’s needed, but because it’s magic. A welcome supper the night before, last-minute table plan tweaks, breakfast in robes the next morning. Guests bond. Nerves melt. It becomes less of a blur and more of a story you’ll tell forever.
We’ll never push or rush or standardise - that’s just not us. Glewstone is a place to be yourself, surrounded by the people you love, held by a team that quietly has your back.

Our venue hire pricing depends on the year (up to 2027), the season and the day of the week you are looking to book. Our starting price is based on a low season midweek date for 24 24-hour hire in 2025, and the end price is based on a high season weekend date for 48-hour hire of the venue in 2028.
Our prices always include exclusive use of the house and grounds for your hire period, along with the Honeymoon Suite. A dedicated Events Manager will assist in planning and ensure the smooth running of your day. We provide an entertainment and bar license until 11pm, with extensions available for a small fee. Included are a BOSE WiFi/Bluetooth music system for your ceremony and reception (if required), a silver cake stand and knife, white table linen, Kings cutlery, crystal stemware, and elegant Chiavari chairs.

The food on the day was amazing and we got so many comments on how nice it was! Since we booked the venue has been thoughtfully updated and it is such a beautiful cosy place. The grounds are stunning and the bridal suite was spectacular. We wanted a venue that could host us the night before, accommodate the family and wedding party on site and have a beautiful setting with enough room for the guests to have fun and dance in the evening. Glewstone Court has all of this, but the main reason we chose Glewstone Court was because it is an independent, family-run business who are dedicated to making your day spectacular. It probably helps they've even hosted their own family weddings at the venue! You really get to know the team, with Sam and Charles running the day to absolute perfection and Amy planning everything to a T (and with endless patience!). They really get it. It's really not a 'wedding factory' like some similar venues in the South West. Everything was flexible and tailored, with them even sharing fresh ideas of how to do things different from our first look around. They also have an in-house catering team who we've had three meals with now and each one has been delicious. We knew the food would be great on the day but it really exceeded expectation. The whole team are everything and more you could want in a supportive wedding planning and coordinating team. Carla kept us updated with room allocations, which gave us so much peace of mind. Then we met Amy, who guided us through all of the planning details. She made us feel so comfortable, reassured us that no question was too small or silly, and was always just an email away with kindness, patience, and efficiency. When the wedding weekend finally arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. We had the venue for 48 hours, which was such a gift—it gave us time to settle in, decorate, and soak up the excitement before the big day. From the moment we arrived, we were looked after by Charles, our coordinator, and words can’t express how grateful we are for him. He was our rock throughout the whole stay—helping us with every little detail, from carrying endless bags, to tying chair sashes, to bringing us coffees when we needed a moment to breathe. His thoughtfulness, calm presence, and constant support made us feel completely at ease and so well cared for. The evening before the wedding, we enjoyed the most delicious chicken BBQ spread. It was the perfect way to relax with our loved ones and set the tone for the celebration ahead. On the wedding morning itself—26th August—I was filled with nerves, but Charles checked in constantly, bringing us breakfast, making sure everything downstairs was running smoothly, and updating me so I could truly relax and focus on the moment. Knowing he was there, handling everything with such care, allowed me to be fully present and enjoy every second. From the little touches to the big moments, Glewstone delivered in every possible way. The food was absolutely divine, the rooms were spotless and comfortable, and every single member of the team went above and beyond.
