At Springkell, anything is possible.
The house dates from 1734, but we have renovated Springkell so it is kitted out with modern en-suite bathrooms, a bar, a dancefloor, large and comfortable bedrooms.
Alongside beautiful landscaped gardens and formal rooms, Springkell is ideal for a private weekend away with all your friends and family.
We are 3.5 hours from London by train, and 1.5 hours from Glasgow and Edinburgh. Close to the motorway, but very peaceful and secluded, Springkell is a hidden gem.

It is billed a wedding venue - can think of none better. But try to find an excuse to go if not getting hitched! It's an amazing building for those who like that. Our room was huge and comfortable. It feels as if you are stepping into a period drama - so expect to feel like you are visiting your wealthy relatives rather than a hotel with all the mod cons. Great place to meet up with friends. Springkell is a truly wonderful venue and it will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Our guests were extremely impressed with both its aesthetic and the incredible employees who helped to make the day so special. Fell in love with Springkell immediately on sight, the pictures will never do it justice, you have to experience the feel of Springkell. Owner James, a true gentleman, makes Springkell feel like your home. The staff - Fiona the wedding co-ordinator - amazing, every step of the way, a true gem! Gill - who literally creates your dream day, nothing is too much trouble and your wedding breakfast set-up will blow you away, so creative and stunningly beautiful! The chefs, wow! The food is absolutely amazing, from breakfast to wedding dining - just an experience not to be missed. The waiting staff go above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble. Our guests were all blown away with the service they received, one even stating a waitress ran out to her car to get her own phone charger for her to use as she had forgotten hers!!! I mean, that is above and beyond. I happened to mention that Robert who works the bar told me he speaks German. My partner is German and his relatives were coming to the wedding, I was told there and then they would have him working the bar at our wedding. He was working and made our German family and friends feel right at home. The rooms are luxurious, spacious and scrupulously clean! Oh, again feedback from all our guests - the mattresses are divine, so comfortable and huge beds! The character of this stately home have been meticulously cared for and preserved, it is quite breath taking on entering. However, when anyone asks me which is my favourite then one name comes instantly to mind...Springkell. I've been lucky enough to photograph maybe ten or a dozen weddings now at Springkell and every visit has been a pleasure, whatever the time of year and regardless of the weather conditions. Springkell is a stunning building visually, set in large, open grounds and will appear before you as you approach up the long driveway. After my first visit I have always had a feeling of going home when I make this drive and usually stop to take some photos of the house from across the fields as it is so impressive. The real magic of Springkell to me is how homely and relaxed it always feels being there and many couples and guests have also said the same to me. The Springkell staff are always friendly, welcoming and will do everything that they can to make your wedding day and stay perfect. Beautiful bridal rooms, staircases, marble hallway, games room, bar, lounge, ceremony room, dining room, marquee for larger receptions, stunning grounds for relaxing and photos, delicious food, wonderful friendly staff...it really does have everything that you could want for a perfect wedding day! Only five minutes drive from the motorway, so easy to get to, yet so special, secluded and relaxing when you arrive. A place you will have happy memories of and will want to return to again. Jill and team were excellent looking after Stephanie and Ryan keeping them on the right track. Springkell also offers fantastic areas for socialising with other guests (in our case, friends and family who stayed too) with lovely views of the country side. The breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a number of wonderful dishes on offer with generous portion sizes. The more remote location offers beautiful walks, and stunning views of the stars. We have already booked Springkell for our wedding!The rooms are beautiful and spacious with wonderfully large, comfortable beds. Springkell also offers fantastic areas for socialising with other guests (in our case, friends and family who stayed too) with lovely views of the country side.
