GG’s Yard is our stunning wedding venue here at Laggan. Set amongst rugged rolling hills & overlooking breath-taking panoramic sea views, it’s a magical place where dream days make lasting memories. Here at GG’s Yard, we offer an exclusive use venue with multiple spaces for use throughout your day. The Grand Gallery is our largest room built specifically with space & light in mind. GG’s Grand Gallery seats up to 200 day guests & provides stunning views as the backdrop to your day. Our Ceremony Wing is a light, airy space full of original character which sets a romantic scene for making your vows. GG’s yard is also home to our Brides room, Whiskey Room, Byre Lounge, Bar & outdoor terrace. These specifically designed spaces mean that you, your wedding party and guests will flow seamlessly though the changing aspects of your day. Our team of highly trained wedding coordinators work to the highest of standard & will look after your every need. Our kitchens are also purpose built & have the latest equipment so that we can cater for a large number of people to the highest standards. The food prepared by our Executive Head Chef Jamie Muirhead & his excellent brigade of chefs is fresh & locally sourced. On site at Laggan we also have our Bistro Restaurant Gather & accommodation. Our Sea View Snugs are available to book along with the 14 rooms at our newest hotel The Murray Arms. We also have 2 self-catering houses, Cairnharrow Cottage & Laggan Behind Farmhouse. Each snug can sleep 2 or 4 people. The Nest & High Haven are both snugs ideal for your wedding night - only a few minutes from the venue. Many of our units have hot tubs to relax in whilst taking in the view & 4 of our snugs are dog friendly if you wish to bring your four-legged friends too! GG’s Yard at Laggan really is the perfect place to host your special day. The day ran so smoothly from start to finish, and the team made it feel completely effortless — which we know is no small task! Zoe and Julie, our wedding coordinators, were fantastic — so organised, helpful, and calm throughout the whole process. Graham kept everything running seamlessly behind the bar, and Jackie was incredibly kind and grounding right before I walked down the aisle. The serving staff were also brilliant and really helped create such a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. We had so many lovely comments from guests about how great the food and drinks were — everything was delicious and really well done. The whole team made us feel so well looked after, and we’re so grateful for the care that went into making our day as special as it was. Laggan Behind was the perfect place to get ready with the girls and our snug was the perfect place to unwind after such an emotional day. Several of our guests have booked to go back and stay because they loved it so much. To everyone at GG’s who made this day so magical for us, we are forever grateful. It’s not just a wedding venue, it’s a truly special place nestled among farm animals, stunning coastal walks and beautiful hills. LOVE LOVE LOVE. If I could do it all again I would! There's so much variety over a small distance, and no matter the weather it looks amazing. The guests had a great time, and having so many places to stay all within the grounds just made everything so easy.What a venue! The food was delicious even though I had the dairy free version due to allergies. Every second of the day was perfection for us. Jackie and Vicki have been superstars from day one with communication, knowledge and helping with anything. When we first came to the venue, we were already blown away by the views but it was our easiest decision made. It was great being shown around, the whole feel of the venue - it gave us the exact setting we wanted to experience on the day. A relaxed but grand feel, a place and where all our nearest and dearest would feel like the hours of driving are more than worth it. It’s such a beautiful place and we appreciate how much love Vicki & Duncan have poured into all the details. I have to give my heartfelt thanks to Zoe & Jo. Zoe has been so on point with emails, answering all the most random questions I asked (as I did all the DIY décor, I needed to know even the most trivial of details) nothing was ever too much or silly, and the responses were always so prompt - so reassuring to have an answer so quickly so I never needed to panic! Jo was our on-the-day co-ordinator and she was just exactly who we needed to support us during the hustle and bustle of setting up the rooms and the wedding day itself. Having someone with her experience and joy, she knew exactly what to do and where to put things for maximum effect. I loved that throughout the wedding, all the suggestions she made were just perfection! How rare is it to have someone who’s on top of everything while executing it flawlessly. She was always wherever we needed her and made it so that I had no stresses throughout, it was more than I could have ever hoped for! The level of service you all offer was just incredible and the best I’ve ever encountered (and of course Pudge loved the fussings over her 😂) It not only lived up but exceeded expectation, and we’ve come away from our stay on cloud nine. Wouldn’t have changed a single thing and that’s all down to everyone at Laggan/GG's Yard making it an incredible day. The main feedback we’ve had is that this is the best wedding people have every been to by a long shot! That’s huge considering that’s from all over England and Scottish side! They keep saying that everything was just pure perfection: from the service, the snugs, the food and drink were exceptional, layout of the venue was brilliant and so many layers to uncover throughout the day. We’re so glad that the weather was so gorgeous for us the whole time we were there - it just made it that much more special. A huge thank you guys again and we will continue to sing your praises everywhere! Rooms: Snugs were incredible. High Haven Room was beautiful - Hot tub was private and fantastic Food & drinks: Delicious food in both GG's yard and Gather. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We have had so many beautiful weddings here at Laggan, but one really stands out as a spectacular day. Caelainn & Rosie had an absolutely stunning wedding at GG's Yard. They were both glowing and full of fun and laughter the whole day. Their family and friends resonated their same glow and so did the weather! They got absolutely stunning photographs around Laggan with blue skies, golden sunsets and crisp twilight. They really did enjoy every part of their day and made it so memorable for all their guests and our staff! Congratulations again Caelainn & Rosie!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't sweat the small stuff! If you have a great team of wedding coordinators, they will be there to concentrate on the finer details for you. Couples should concentrate on enjoying their special day and spending time with their family and friends.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Cards placed at each table setting describing why each guest had been seated at their table. The cards included personal stories of how guests had met each other and how they knew the happy couple.
