Selden Barns, at Selden Farm, is set within over 50 acres of the South Downs National Park; an idyllic rural retreat for your wedding day. This exclusive-use venue features beautiful, characterful barns, with Selden Farmhouse at the venues heart; beautifully kept lawns and a terrace overlooking open farmland and forests. Selden Barns also benefits from nine Guest Bedrooms, accommodating up to 24 wedding guests, including our beautiful Newlywed Suite. Our bride and grooms and guests enjoy breakfast served the following day in the Farmhouse kitchen. Wedding ceremonies are licensed for up to 100 guests in the stunning Ceremony Barn; adjoining the Farmhouse with original oak beams, fireplace and exposed brickwork. Fairy lights entwine the beams overhead whilst you take your wedding vows beneath the beautiful chandeliers. Alternatively opt for the outside ceremony lawn with stunning views. Enjoy pre-reception drinks and canapes on one of our lawns within the walled gardens, or terraces adjoining the Grand Barn; the location for your wedding breakfast and evening reception. With capacity to seat up to 200 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 250 for your evening reception, this versatile, flexible wedding space is second to none. With beautiful ivory pleated drapes, swags and tails, vintage chandeliers and a fairy light ceiling, you and your guests will enjoy grandeur during your wedding day. For your evening wedding reception, party the night away on the raised dancefloor with provision for a DJ or band, plus a fully stocked bar located close by. For those warm, summer nights, step off the dancefloor outside to the beautiful terrace and lawns to enjoy a drink and look up at the stars. Venue hire includes tables, chairs, fully stocked cash/card bar, gift and cake table, parking and staff, including a wedding planner to ensure your day runs smoothly. Your venue hire fee includes the support of our dedicated team of experienced event planners, ensuring every detail of your special day runs smoothly. Enjoy early access from 9am to our Getting Ready Room—a private and tranquil space for you and your bridal party to prepare.
Your guests will be comfortably seated in our elegant, marquee-styled barn, complete with chandeliers, heating, a fully licensed bar, a raised dance floor, and a covered outdoor seating area. We also provide all tables, chairs, and glassware.
Should you wish to hold your ceremony onsite, an additional fee of £399 applies. This gives you exclusive access to one of our three licensed ceremony spaces:
A beautiful garden setting surrounded by fruit trees
A charming traditional flint and brick ceremony room
A stunning Sussex oak pergola
Each option offers a unique and romantic backdrop for your vows.
You are welcome to choose from our four trusted, preferred caterers—each offering a range of delicious options to suit your style and budget.
To help bring your vision to life, we’re also happy to share our Recommended Suppliers List, featuring a curated selection of talented professionals including DJs, cake makers, florists, photographers, and more to help you find the perfect fit for your day.

The staff were extremely professional and made the whole thing feel very personal. The only thing, which was a shame, was our wine allowance per head was not laid out on the tables. The glasses were not topped up on the tables, meaning it did not flow and we took lots home. Apart from that the whole thing was amazing. Even the breakfast the next morning felt like an event. The accommodation was lovely. Thank you Denise and ChrisFrom the initial enquiries to the final breakfast it was fantastic. The venue is fantastic and we see lots of very happy couples and guests enjoying all the venue has to offer. The grounds are perfectly peaceful and always extremely well kept. The site is perfect for year round functions of all types. With blooming flowers in the spring and summer to relaxing sites of autumn and winter. The venue has great facilities for caterers ( better than some other venues ) in terms of ovens and good work tops. Allows us to offer the best possible. The team are extremely talented, friendly and knowledgeable. There great to work with. This is a review form a catering business that caterers here on a regular basis. The venue is fantastic and we see lots of very happy couples and guests enjoying all the venue has to offer. The grounds are perfectly peaceful and always extremely well kept. Our beautiful Grand Barn, because it has the advantage of being able to accommodate dining, our dancefloor and bar all under one roof. With the stunning fairy light ceiling, fabulous raised dancefloor and huge marble and oak bar, guests have everything they need which means there is always a fabulous atmosphere!
