The Walled Garden at Cowdray

We just wanted to email and say thank you so much for everything you did on Saturday and in the lead up! The venue was incredible and you guys as a team were fantastic. You went above and beyond and we’re so grateful. We had the best day!

We had the most incredible wedding day, thank you. The Walled Garden was the perfect venue and we are so happy we chose to get married there. Hannah, Rachael and the team have been wonderful, so professional and friendly, which made our experience very easy and enjoyable. It makes all the difference so we can't thank you enough. We also had never seen the garden in June with all the roses out and it took our breath away when we saw how beautiful it was!

Despite the beautiful venue, our experience with Yellow Kitchen catering at Cowdray's Walled Gardens was a massive disappointment. We had high expectations after attending previous open days and tastings, where the food had impressed us with its quality and presentation. However, at my brothers recent wedding, the reality was different. The catering felt rushed and lacked the quality we had come to expect. The dishes were a far from what we had sampled before. The fish, for example, was served without being properly filleted, and the chips were rock hard and not edible, which was surprising and disappointing. Even basic food standards seemed to have been overlooked. The portions were also noticeably smaller than what we had been promised during the tasting sessions. To add to our disappointment, the head chef's response when questioned about the quality of the food was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of addressing our concerns professionally, he seemed uninterested and defensive. Our dissatisfaction was further added to by the response from the CEO. Despite detailing our issues in a heartfelt email, his abrupt "end of conversation" reply left us feeling unheard and undervalued as customers who had invested significantly in their catering service. When one spends a substantial amount of money on catering alone, especially for such an important event like a wedding, one naturally expects impeccable service and quality. Unfortunately, our experience with Yellow Kitchen catering fell far short of these expectations. Cowdray is advertised as a high end wedding venue, which was completely let down by the disorganisation of all staff members involved, especially the management. There were plenty of other issues that were not addressed nor was an apology made. The only compliments were the suppliers from outside of Cowdray that we organised such as the Drunken Jockeys

Well, what a day! We just wanted to thank you both and your teams at Cowdray and The Yellow Kitchen for providing us with such a wonderful setting and excellent tea to celebrate our church wedding on Saturday. We even had the sort of weather depicted on your website and in the photograph album you had shown us. Everyone had a wonderful time.

We had our wedding here in April '23 and it was such a great day. Hannah and Rachael was excellent throughout the whole process, especially Rachael who was our main point of contact from when we booked and on the day itself - the team & herself was great from all aspects. They stayed calm whilst under pressure and communicated with us throughout the day effectively.

With the confetti now settled, we wanted to give our sincere thanks to the Cowdray team for making our day so brilliant! From the day Charlotte and Guy first got in touch, we felt we could focus on the things our wedding should have been about – for which we will always be grateful. We can’t thank you all enough, honestly it was the best most perfect day ever. We can’t believe the feed back we had from our guests either everyone has said that it was the nicest venue they have ever seen and so different. We are sad to say good by really. You have all been wonderful every person we have met and spoken to its just been a pleasure, The Poats Xxxx

Our wedding went beautifully, and everyone really made sure to make it seamless and stress-free including you! Everything really was perfect with the event, and the days leading up to the event. You all went out of your way to make sure everyone and everything was attended to, and our family and friends reported back with amazing feedback about the Walled Garden.

We just wanted to send you all an email to thank you for everything you did to make our wedding so special. We had a perfect day and the Walled Gardens were stunning in the sunshine. It was clear that every effort had been made for it to feel like a 'normal' wedding and that was really important to us because with Covid, it could have felt a lot more sterile. It's been a long journey to getting wed so thank you for baring with us and always being on hand to answer our never-ending questions!
