Upwaltham Barns is full of charm and character, offering rustic elegance for your wedding celebrations. Begin your day in the calming Orchard Room, a dedicated preparation space that feels both practical and indulgent in equal measure. When preparations are complete, the light-filled East Barn with its floor-to-ceiling windows, wooden beams and and views of the South Downs welcomes you as the ideal backdrop to say ‘I do’. Following your romantic ceremony, your guests move out into the flower-filled courtyard to mingle and enjoy drinks and canapes. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with the Moroccan style snug and contemporary copper-topped tables in the Stable Bar.

The spacious South Barn is the perfect setting for your wedding reception. The wooden beams, flint stone walls and neutral colour scheme will complement any of your decorations perfectly. The barn has a warm and inviting atmosphere, whatever the season, with underfloor heating, candlelit wrought iron candelabras, seated dining for up to 150 guests and plenty of space for evening entertainment. From formal wedding breakfasts to informal barbeques, the South Barn provides the perfect backdrop for treasured memories.

We got married at Upwaltham barns a couple of weeks ago. It was the most unbelievable day we could’ve wished for. The staff go above and beyond to make your day as special as it deserves to be. This venue is absolutely beautiful, we would recommend it to anyone. If you’re thinking of getting married in a barn setting, but with a modern touch, look no further. We honestly don’t have a single bad thing to say about the whole experience from start to finish. We stayed in the Jasmine cottage on site the night of the wedding and strongly recommend you do the same as it’s a lovely cottage and experience. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue than Upwaltham Barns for our December wedding. From the moment we arrived for a viewing, it felt special not just because the barn itself is absolutely beautiful, but because of the people behind it. The whole team at Upwaltham including Nibbles2Nosh and Stable Bar are incredibly friendly, experienced, professional, and knowledgeable, and our wedding coordinators Kate & Charis made everything feel calm, organised, and effortless. Nothing was ever too much trouble - every question, request, or detail was handled with care and kindness. From day one, it truly felt like we were being welcomed into a family rather than just booking a venue. The atmosphere is warm, personal, and relaxed, and you can really feel the care that goes into every detail. The small personal touches throughout the venue make such a difference, and it’s clear how much effort and pride goes into maintaining it. You can genuinely tell that Nicola, the owner, truly cares about every couple and every wedding that takes place there. The food by the in house caterers Nibbles2Nosh was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and so many of our guests commented on how and how amazing the food was which meant a lot to us. I absolutely love photographing weddings at Upwaltham Barns! As a wedding photographer, it’s such a joy to work at a venue that's not only completely stunning with cottage garden vibes but also logistically brilliant. Everything is within easy reach, group photo spots are nearby so guests don’t have to wander far, and couples can get a huge variety of portraits without having to disappear for hours. The outdoor ceremony space is also a gorgeous, alternative for the 'I dos.' surrounded by hills & countryside. One of my favorite features has to be the wildflower meadow, it offers such stunning views of the South Downs and makes the perfect spot for golden hour portraits and it's also really close to the venue. The family-run atmosphere is also a huge draw, whether you’re a guest or a supplier, you’re made to feel like part of the family. The organisation is second to none and weddings here always run completely seamlessly. As a wedding photographer I always love working at Upwaltham Barns. It always looks incredible in every season throughout the year. The grounds are beautiful, the flowers are always stunning and there’s no shortage of great backdrops. The food is so good, especially those summer BBQ's. And just as importantly, the team are brilliant - so friendly, hard-working and lovely to work alongside. The level of care they give their couples is amazing, and they’re always incredibly welcoming and thoughtful towards suppliers too.. We had such a beautiful wedding day here! So many of our guests commented on what a gorgeous venue it was, and we were really looked after by the whole team. The team were really helpful in the organisation prior to the wedding day and on the day itself the event was well organised and the staff were really helpful and everything ran smoothly. We really did have the most magical and happy day and so many of our guests commented on how brilliant the day was and what an utterly spectacular and gorgeous venue Upwaltham Barns was. We felt very proud and lucky to be able to host our wedding reception there and every single member of staff we dealt with was always so friendly and so helpful, both on the day and also on the run up to the wedding.We really did have the most magical and happy day and so many of our guests commented on how brilliant the day was and what an utterly spectacular and gorgeous venue Upwaltham Barns was. We got married there this Autumn and absolutely everything was just perfect. The staff are fantastic and so helpful and dedicated to making your big day run flawlessly and the venue is just beautiful. The drinks from the bar team were a huge hit and the food was incredible and very generous portions for the price- we still get people telling us how amazing it was weeks later.
