Sedgewell Barn is set within 60-acres of rolling countryside in the heart of rural North Yorkshire. This relaxed, family-run wedding venue offers two stunning barns with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside, as well as deluxe glamping pods and a luxury wedding suite on-site. A blank canvas venue giving you the flexibility to theme your wedding as you wish, spending as little or as much on the things which matter most to you. We have two interlinked wedding barns; the Rustic Barn with its romantic character, and the Celebration Barn which is more contemporary in style with enviable views over the Yorkshire Dales. Our fabulous venue also includes accommodation with eleven glamping pods, all with private hot tubs, en-suite shower room and kitchen. The Nest, a luxury country cottage with private hot tub, makes a perfect pre-wedding suite hideaway, a stunning setting to enjoy time with those closest to you. The Sedgewell Barn team will turn The Nest into a romantic honeymoon suite for the newlyweds during the wedding day, changing the bedding and replenishing with fresh, fluffy towels. We also offer outdoor seating areas, the Byre as a welcome area, and several stunning backdrops for photographs. Sedgewell Barn is licensed to hold civil ceremonies with two ceremony rooms to choose from, depending on the ceremony size, as well as the outdoor courtyard and terrace area. We have a recommended supplier list to help with wedding planning, and six local, preferred catering suppliers, but you are welcome to choose whichever caterer you wish! What's included in the venue hire? - Exclusive use of the whole site, starting the day before the wedding making for plenty of time to set-up. - Two or three night stay in 11 hand-crafted, timber deluxe glamping pods all with private hot tubs. 10 sleep up to 4 guests and one sleeps up to 5 guests. All bedding, towels and a fire bundle for each pod will be provided. - The Nest Cottage, our luxury honeymoon suite, for two or three nights featuring a roll top bath and private hot tub. - Rustic Barn, Celebration Barn and the Byre, heated barns which are all yours to style however you wish. - Fully stocked and staffed bar including glass hire. - In-house Wedding Planner, including on-the-day co-ordination. - Table and chair hire for up to 80 guests. - Two outdoor areas with patio furniture. - Access to a bespoke online wedding planning tool. - Recommended supplier list. - Sound system throughout the venue with complimentary use of an electric drumkit for your chosen band (if required). - Use of indoor catering area for your chosen caterer. - Wedding ceremony facility fee (Registrar’s costs payable separately). - Fairy lights, festoon lights, drapes and a wall of fairy lights. - Barrels for the wedding cake plus easels for signs and pictures to utilise throughout the day. - Wheelchair access, accessible WC and baby changing facilities. - Stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales - priceless! We fell in love with Sedgewell Barn our very first visit. The barns offer so much in in putting your own stamp on the day and as the perfect place to start planning from. High on our list was the ability to gather our family and close friends the night before and the cabins gave us such a lovely evening as people arrived and immediately relaxed into the weekend, with enough space to gather around share pizzas, and let the kids (and a few adults) burn off some energy to get a great nights kip, and a quick dip in the hot tubs, before the big day. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and its testament to the team that they don’t sit on what is already a stunning venue, they’re constantly developing it to include thoughtful extras to enhance it. We felt in such safe hands, the team were warm, knowledgeable and onboard for our crazy ideas – like suggesting how best to hide a big brass band from your guests! I’ll never be able to do justice in words of how special they made our day and just how happy I am that we got to be a little part of this beautiful venues history – but you can probably tell from our photos, where we’re either absolutely beaming or full belly laughing!We fell in love with Sedgewell Barn our very first visit. Truly Incredible Truly Incredible
We got married at Sedgewell Barn in July and it was truly incredible from the moment we booked. We had the venue and wigwams for the entire weekend and every single member of the team went above and beyond to make sure we had the most perfect weekend and wedding day. The venue is a great size for all weddings - big or small! The recommended suppliers were fantastic and the day went without a hitch. Lots of our guests said it was the best wedding/wedding venue they had been to. Thank you so much We got married at Sedgewell Barn in July and it was truly incredible from the moment we booked. We had our wedding party at Sedgewell Barn in June and we could not have picked a more beautiful venue to celebrate in!! The barn itself is spectacular, but still a blank canvas to really put your own stamp on your wedding and make it personal to you. The surrounding Yorkshire countryside is glorious and the views from the barn are spectacular. So many of our guests commented on what a beautiful venue we had chosen! From the minute we came to view Sedgewell, Catherine, Stuart and Louise have been amazing and they couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The newly built bridal suite is beautiful and the perfect place to get ready. The glamping pods meant that all of our closet family and friends could stay onsite which made it feel more like an entire weekend celebration! Pedro the confetti pony and Mr Fuzzy Face the sheep were the icing on the cake and we loved having them involved in the day and for the photos! We cannot recommend Sedgewell Barn highly enough, we want to do it all over again please!! Craig and I would just like to say another massive thank you for providing us with the most perfect venue for our dream wedding. Everything was just perfect and all of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. It's been lovely getting to know you, and we'll definitely be back for a stay in the gorgeous pods in the future! The champagne and card which you left in our pod was really thoughtful. Directions by Postcode Our postcode is DL7 9JY. By car from the A1(M) Leave the A1 (M) at junction 51 and head east on the A684 towards Northallerton. When you reach the crossroads, turn right following the brown sign for Sedgewell Barn. (If you reach Northallerton you have gone too far).
