Description
Newcastle Castle is a fine example of a medieval castle. Rustic, iconic and atmospheric it is truly the most romantic and unique venue for any wedding.
The venue consists of the Black Gate, a 13th century gatehouse which houses the Harbottle Suite, our licensed room for civil ceremonies; and the Castle Keep, which consists of four floors plus the Roof with some of the most stunning views across the city and Tyne Valley. On the second floor of the Castle Keep is the large and atmospheric Great Hall. While the ground-floor consists of the Gaol, which is ideal for smaller drinks receptions, and the Chapel, simply perfect for intimate ceremonies with a celebrant.
We are a dry hire venue and we value all our couples. When you hire the castle you have the full flexibility to tailor your big day to exactly how you would like it with the services of our wedding planner should you wish it.

From a small idea to our big day, the Castle staff were there with us every step of the way. The Great Hall was filled with candles and we seated 60 people comfortably. The guests walked up to the grand entrance making it really something special for our guests. The service ran so smoothly and the acoustics of the Great Hall really complemented the Gospel Choir beautifully. And finally a drinks reception on the roof, with those stunning views of the City, it left our guests speechless. But what really made it for us, was the exquisite attention to detail and extra little flourishes and assistance the Castle did for us that really just helped take the stress of planning a wedding away. They were so accommodating - nothing was too much for them. Many Brides (and Grooms of course) will know the apprehension of putting your trust into others to make your special day work - not with these guys! I felt so confident and comfortable and knew they would pull out all the stops to make our day seamless. And of course they did. From our guests arriving to the Great Hall to the stunning drinks reception on the roof - it simply was, well... perfect.Having our wedding at the Castle saw our dreams quite literally come true.
