Megginch Castle has been the family home of the Drummond family since 1660. Catherine and Giles were married here themselves and have decided to host about 10-12 weddings each year meaning that you too can become part of this castle's fascinating history. The Castle is surrounded by ancient gardens, orchards and parkland and the ballroom itself overlooks an 18th century cobbled courtyard to one side and the formal Victorian gardens to the other. Your wedding ceremony can either be outside next to the historic garden ponds or holly avenue or inside anywhere from the small rustic chapel out in the woods to the grandeur of the castle drawing room. But as the sun goes down everything changes! With the Castle’s west façade and courtyard glowing gently in the background, Let the party begin! Turn on the music, programmable LED lighting, and truly celebrate your most special day! But that's not the end of the celebrations at a wedding at Megginch Castle. As well as the bridal suite being included in your package we also encourage you to come back the next day for a brunch with as many family and friends as you like. Why not try somewhere new? Maybe out in the orchard or in the walled garden overlooking the tea plantain or herb garden. And what about a castle tour for those interested to find out more about the history of this unique setting and what it's really like to live in a 15th century castle in the 21st century. We may also have some other rooms in the castle available for the bridal party and normally help your other guests find local accommodation with some of our nearby partners (all within 10-15 minutes). We can also help on transportation throughout the weekend with our local taxis and bus companies. Please contact us if you would like your wedding ceremony to become part of the history of this magical Castle of Dreams.
Our own wedding! Very romantic with a completely unique family castle as a backdrop. It made us realise that others may like to share their wedding vows here so we began extensive refurbishment of the ballroom in 2020 to make your day a truly 5 star experience.
Make sure you have a good wedding planner to help you. We have Jan who has organised scores of luxury weddings in this area over the last 10 years and will ensure your day goes smoothy from start to finish...

I think probably the way we have mixed the old with the new... Whilst the castle is from the 15th century and the gothic courtyard has some of the first ever bricks used in Scotland, we have installed the very latest LED lighting technology in the ballroom and the ladies' loo takes luxury to a new level!
