Manchester Art Gallery has a range of versatile spaces designed to fit your wedding vision. From cozy gatherings to larger parties, you can host up to 120 guests for a ceremony and dinner, with even more room for evening receptions.
- Gallery 16: Exchange your vows surrounded by iconic Mancunian paintings by Lowry and Valette. This atmospheric space comfortably holds up to 120 guests for your ceremony.
- The Pre-Raphaelite Galleries: For a truly romantic vibe, these richly decorated galleries offer a breathtaking backdrop for drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts, accommodating up to 90 guests. The vibrant, detailed artwork creates an unforgettable atmosphere.
- The Atrium: Filled with natural light, this bright, contemporary space links the original Victorian building with the modern extension. It’s perfect for a seated dinner of up to 120 guests or an evening reception for up to 200.
- The Gallery Café: Ideal for your evening party, this airy space can be transformed to include a DJ, live band, and dancefloor, hosting up to 150 guests.
Catering & Services
The gallery’s expert in-house catering team focuses on fresh, locally and sustainably sourced ingredients to craft delicious meals tailored to your taste. You can work with them to design a bespoke menu or select from a variety of three-course dinners and buffet options.
To make planning stress-free, a dedicated event manager will support you every step of the way, ensuring your wedding runs smoothly. Your hire package includes exclusive use of your chosen gallery spaces from 5 pm on your wedding day, access to a fully licensed bar, and use of the gallery’s furniture, lighting, and sound systems.

It was an absolutely wonderful event. Victoria, Debbie, Adam, Ryan and all of their staff where an absolutely dream. The welcome was extraordinary, the drinks perfect..and the food was heaven and all of our guests Carnivores-Vegans and everything in between praised the food to the highest. The wonderful team at the Gallery all went the extra mile and made our occasion extra special. It’s rare to find such wonderful people all of who do such an amazing job, so on behalf of me and my husband I wanted to recommend the venue and say if you're lucky enough to be able to get married there you should grab the opportunity with both hands.
