THE VENUE
Maunsel House is one of the most romantic wedding venues in England. Owned by Sir Benjamin Slade and famous for being the ultimate ‘party house’ of Somerset the team can help you create a wedding or event truly magical and one to treasure and remember forever.
Come and fall in love with what can only be described as the hidden gem of Somerset.
THE SETTING
Situated amongst 100 acres of stunning gardens, orchards and lakes within 2000 acres of glorious natural beauty you will find Maunsel House nestled away behind a driveway of chestnut trees where resident peacocks freely roam the grounds along with doves, geese, ducks and Shetland ponies too.
CEREMONY
Maunsel House is licenced for civil ceremonies. Choose from our elegant regency ballroom which seats up to 100 guests, the pretty garden bandstand, or the undercover pergola within the walled garden, alternatively you may wish to marry in our very own candlelit Saxon chapel. Being one of the oldest and smallest chapels in England it is perfect for an intimate wedding seating up to 50 guests.
WEDDING BREAKFAST/RECEPTION
Wedding breakfasts/receptions can be held in the regency ballroom, or if you prefer a garden style wedding you can choose to dine alfresco under the beautiful rose covered pergola within the walled garden, and as evening falls is lit with twinkling fairy lights along with the glow of our chimineas adding that extra touch of magic to an already atmospheric setting.
STAY WITH US
Staying at Maunsel House is a truly unique experience, with 17 bedrooms all beautifully decorated within the main house each offering individual character and charm and 5 quaint cottages allows Maunsel House to accommodate up to 66 guests making this the perfect weekend wedding venue.
