Here at Donnington Manor, we understand that every wedding is unique. Each couple has their own love story to tell, along with their own personal wishes, dreams and budget for their big day. That’s why we specialise in creating beautiful, bespoke weddings to suit your own requirements.
We are licenced to host Civil Marriages and Partnerships any day of the week and have space to accommodate weddings of varied sizes. The airy Riverhead Suite can accommodate 180 for a ceremony, 120 for your wedding breakfast and up to 200 for the evening function, whereas our smaller space The Cromwell Room is a tasteful room that's ideal for smaller ceremonies and evening functions. Alternatively why not consider a marquee in our exquisitely-themed gardens with outdoor patio, accompanied by a delicious bbq buffet or hog roast?
You can choose to hold your ceremony, reception or both with us, and we will be with you each step of the way. Our experienced and passionate in-house wedding planners Rebecca and Sam will listen, advise and ultimately work with you as much or as little as you would like in order to create your ideal wedding day
Our team truly cares about giving you both the day you deserve, with an flexible selection of menus and additional services such as floral arrangements, DJ and decorations. All of our packages offer exceptional value for money without compromising on luxury for one of the most important days of your life.

As the in-house Weddings and Events Co-ordinator here at the hotel, and as a former bride myself, I understand how important it is to find the right venue for your big day. As for the actual wedding day, the hours you worked were beyond the call of duty. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I should like to mention about the wedding breakfast room. It was breath-taking and I know everybody gave a hand in completing it. Your whole team must love and respect you, to all work so well together. Our Toast Master was a marvellous asset. He helped immensely to keep both Keith and I calm. Then to mention the food, which was excellent and certainly appreciated by all of our guests, so a big ‘thankyou’ to your chef and his team. As for your photographer, Matt Evans. He worked like a beaver, rushing around to get this and that shot. Your Reception staff shouldn’t be forgotten either. They were always very patient with us too. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
I'm a wedding fanatic and love them all! Big or small, each wedding is important here, and our couples become like family to us...we're proud to say that many of our couples stay in touch after their big day and come back often, for anniversaries, family events and even renewal of vows!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure your chosen venue has a wedding co-ordinator - and use them! We work with couples all year round and know our venues inside out, so we are well-placed to advise on even the most unusual requests, plus we can often save you money (as well as making sure everything runs smoothly on the day!). A good wedding planner can be worth their weight in gold!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
It's actually one of mine that I brought from my own wedding experience, which I was so grateful for. I always bring the couple in to the reception space just before their guests join them for the wedding breakfast, so they can see the room transformed and enjoy some private time together...it's such a magical, special moment. The look on their faces gets me every time :)

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our pair of resident elephants that stand proudly at the entrance to our hotel. They are made of solid marble and represent good luck, wealth and happiness so are ideal for some quirky shots that you won't see in any other wedding albums!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
If we have, we won't be telling!
What’s your favourite canapé?
The classic mini Yorkshire pudding filled with succulent roast beef and gravy or horseradish, topped with a sprig of parsley
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
It's got to be chocolate, or a lovely cup of tea with biscuits for dunking ;)
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Besides the elephants? Probably the eclectic mix of our historic 15th Century restaurant with its oak beams sitting happily beside our modern Spectrum Lounge Bar and freshly-decorated reception. Quirky and elegant in equal measures...
What part of your business are you most proud of?
My team! We have a full event briefing before each wedding so that everyone feels part of the process, allowing us to deliver the most professional service to you on your guests on your wedding day. Always with a smile and true attention to detail.
