Briar House Barns prides itself on offering a warm welcome to all couples and have been providing a flexible, personal and exclusive weddings & events venue since 2012.
Our Barns are situated in the heart of the South East countryside, nestled down secluded country lanes between Rotherfield and Hadlow Down in East Sussex. Perfect if you are looking for privacy during your special day!
We provide the choice of two separate barns, depending on your needs and the size of the wedding or party. Both are blank canvases, ready for you to put your unique spin and creating the day you truly desire.
With a blank canvas venue, couples have the flexibility to bring inspiration to life and create a special, unique wedding that is individual to them.
We've been improving the barns to create an elegant, scenic and spacious place for weddings and events of all sizes and styles.
We welcome all orientations, religions and cultures.

The Stone Barn can hold up to 100 people, and it suitable for smaller weddings.
The Great Barn can host up to 1,000 people so can cater for larger weddings.

The setting with views across the rolling Sussex countryside is glorious and the arrangements were perfect in every way. We had wonderful food and wines and the dancing carried on into the night. When we began looking for wedding venues around 10 months before the 'big day', first of all we were completely wowed by the stunning location - the sheer size of the barn meant we could invite more people than we thought possible, and also the flexibility of the venue to be transformed any way you like, theme, etc. It looks very elegant with the long white drapes covering the walls.A huge thank you to David and all the team at Briar House Barns for absolutely the best day of our lives! Every idea we had could be catered for but in an environment of calmness and completely private. All our needs were accommodated and every facility was available. It was a great success and seemed enjoyed by all, young and old. The staff were wonderful and did everything to cater for our requirements. Lots of space in main reception area and also behind the scenes, good car parking, platform for band and speeches, flooring for dancing. In April 2014, my wife, Georgina, and I held a party for about 120 at Briar House Barn to mark our 40th Wedding Anniversary. It was a great success and seemed enjoyed by all, young and old. The staff were wonderful and did everything to cater for our requirements. Lots of space in main reception area and also behind the scenes, good car parking, platform for band and speeches, flooring for dancing.

David, the owner, could not have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble, he didn't up any prices for anything extra we asked for, (for example, sending our photographer up a cherry picker for a group arial photo!) We had 120 in the day and an extra 50/60 in the evening, and the space was wonderful. The caterers had their own private area again with loads of space. It was a magical day, and party in the evening on the dacefloor, fireworks with the beautiful surrounding countryside adding to the atmosphere. This was the most incredible day of our lives and Briar House Barns is truly a stunning and unique venue. David, the owner, could not have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble, he didn't up any prices for anything extra we asked for, (for example, sending our photographer up a cherry picker for a group arial photo!) Wow! So many to choose from, but I guess the Mexican wedding was pretty fantastic and unusual.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Keep calm, let it roll all over you and enjoy the day with your friends and family who will be there wishing you all the best and you know it ! Relax and absorb all the love and happiness.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We had a wonderful wedding that featured a Maricachi band!

Cool, sophisticated, elegant, stylish, glamorous and everything you could wish for in a country setting with views to die for.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Some of the best photos have been taken on the terrace but also by the lake.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes, we have had Carl Cox here for an event with Kylie Minogue and a whole host of stars and famous people who came along for the ride. What an evening! It should go down in history.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Definitely prawns and smoked salmon on a buttered rye crispbread adorned with tomato and fine Lettice, but there again a slice of rare roast beef in a mini Yorkshire pudding with gravy is so hard to beat i might have to think about this one!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
A glass or port served with some Stilton and some Thompson's red grapes served with some excellent company and some amusing stories about life's experiences.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The Sussex stonework and the massive glass windows along with the fantastic views and setting. There sis so much to commend it, it is rather difficult to decide.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The construction and integration of everything which has been the joy and success of my life. It has not been easy, but if it had been easy it would not be the achievement it has been. Life is not easy for most people. We should just be as kind as we can to everyone and try to make everyone's life as happy as we can.
