Assynt House is an exclusive use wedding venue situated in the Highlands of Scotland just half an hour from Inverness.
Assynt House offers three types of weddings; Micro weddings for 14, House Parties up to 50 and Marquee weddings up to 120, each work brilliantly in this peaceful and secluded setting.
You can choose to marry in the gardens of Assynt House or for smaller weddings weddings you can move inside to the wood panelled drawing room and larger weddings into their fully lined and floored marquee.
Your wedding meal is taken care of by in-house chefs with great reputations. A truly special venue which allows you to put your stamp on your day yet not lift a finger while you are there.
A Georgian Manor House, Assynt House sits amongst six acres of garden and woodland with plenty of photo opportunities for your big day.
The accommodation comes as part of your exclusive use rental of the house, with seven individually designed en-suite bedrooms you can choose for your family and friends to stay with you on the days leading up to or after your wedding day.
All weddings are individually cared for and Assynt House prides itself in giving you a personal touch.

We offer three types of weddings at Assynt House; Micro weddings for 14, House Parties up to 50 and Marquee weddings up to 120. All wedding pricing includes exclusive use of Assynt House for as long you choose. Tables, chairs, linen and table wear are all included and our marquee pricing includes the marquee itself and the hire of a luxury toilet block, heat and light.

Elizabeth and Graham are brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail and service made planning our wedding as straightforward as anyone could wish for. The food at Assynt House is worth the trip alone! It was truly the most perfect venue we could ever imagine for our wedding, but also for the days running up to it, and days afterwards. All of the staff were so friendly and professional, including Elizabeth and Graham themselves who have thought of everything, and added the most wonderful little touches. Our experience at the house was so special and we are really hoping to return in the future. We spent 5 nights at Assynt House with our wedding in the middle of our stay. It was truly the most perfect venue we could ever imagine for our wedding, but also for the days running up to it, and days afterwards. All of the staff were so friendly and professional, including Elizabeth and Graham themselves who have thought of everything, and added the most wonderful little touches. Our experience at the house was so special and we are really hoping to return in the future.

To say it was like a fairytale would be an understatement. I have never before felt so welcomed and warm. Elizabeth was fantastic with keeping track of vendors and staff and my family throughout the process. I loved all their vendor recommendations and would happily rebook any. In the end my family and I left Scotland with a bigger family and wishing we were staying just a few more days!This was the venue for a mild family reunion and my wedding. From start to finish, including the organisation and communication with Elizabeth and Graham we could not have asked for anything more. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning, with the little extras and attention to detail making it that bit extra special. The rooms are all incredibly well appointed, comfortable and have fantastic en-suites. The public areas are also spacious but homely and welcoming. We had an amazing wedding ceremony in the beautiful garden followed by the most delicious meal cooked by Graham. Every part of the day surpassed our expectations, and this was largely due to the local recommneded links (band, string quartet, florist, photographer, humanist, cake maker) provided by Elizabeth and Graham, and also the highly organised (but never stressful) attitude taken by them, and their wonderful staff. The following day we had another gathering and a BBQ catered by Graham - the same high standards prevailed and we, and our guests, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We cannot thank Assynt House and its owners Elizabeth and Graham enough for making our wedding better than we could have ever imagined. However, it was more than that, and we can't wait to find an excuse to come back. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
This is very hard! One couple had a really intimate wedding in the drawing room with just their closest family and a few friends and then after drinks and canapés the rest of the guests arrived, they gathered in the garden and one of their friends "married them" all over again with everyone there, so informal and very special.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get the very best photographer as you are going to want to look back on this day for the rest of your lives.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One couple had photos of every guest on their own wedding day printed and displayed - it was a lovely touch.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Probably from the terraces garden, beside the huge flower bed with the backdrop of the house.

Mini Crab cakes with a lime a chilli drizzle.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Scottish Stovies or an extravagant Cheese Board.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The building is what attracts guests and the surroundings, our most unique feature is probably our flexibility.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
That we built it ourselves, after a long renovation of the house it's a great feeling to share it with our guests and for our wedding guests it's lovely to see the house become a special place for them too.
