Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club is a stunning neo-gothic Grade II listed mansion house, steeped in history yet lavish and classy. It is much more than just a wedding venue, with a choice of period rooms, beautifully landscaped grounds, and a lovingly maintained secret garden. Located at the heart of the Ashdown Forest, our grounds are bursting with an array of flora and fauna and your wedding party is sure to feel as though they have entered a fairytale when strolling through our magnificent gardens with a breathtaking view of the forest. You could not wish for a more remarkable and romantic place for your dream wedding. When we arrived at the venue the night before we met with and incredible young man called Jamie who would be the one responsible for running our wedding day. He went through every small detail with us, and all our additional requests (including getting some cake taken up to the honeymoon suite to eat when the wedding was finished) were handled. It rained on our wedding day so all our plans for having things outside had to change, which we didn’t even have to communicate with the staff. Everything was just handled with no stress to either of us, allowing us to continue enjoying our day. The food was amazing!! To the point where some of our guests have already booked to go back for dinner or afternoon tea. I could honestly keep writing for ages about all the incredible things that happened on our day, but I just want to say it was entirely stress free, and beautiful. The venue and grounds are stunning and I cannot wait to get our finalised photos back. You were all excellent and we had the best day ever! From the moment we met you we knew you would do us proud and you really did! Dylan and the rest of the staff were exceptional from the moment we checked in and we were looked after and made to feel special. Toast master Stephen took the lead and was such a calming influence. The weekend went by so quickly, and I am now able to reflect on what a magnificent event we had. The venue was stunning, the food was excellent - and everyone was so impressed with the venue. Although, to be fair, who wouldn't be? Room 1 was just fantastic. The staff were great and just couldn't do enough for us. We want to thank you sincerely as we had the most wonderful day. Nothing about the day would we have changed. You and your staff really pulled out all the stops to make us feel very special and absolutely nothing was too much bother. To think that we would have the wedding of our dreams during a global pandemic was unimaginable yet you achieved it. Specifically we would really like to thank Iona. She is a real credit to the hotel; her attitude is flawless, she was able to sort out all of our questions and requests with ease, and she listened patiently to our many changes of opinion with decoration! She had fantastic attention to detail and I’m sure she was a large part of why the day went so well. We really respected the fact that throughout the whole wedding planning experience (rather longer than originally intended as it was!) we consistently saw the same hotel staff, all of whom remembered us with a smile and made us feel welcome. It was very reassuring to then see the same staff on our wedding day. Our guests have all commented on the food; nobody could fault it and all the tweaks we made from the menu tasting were all accommodated on the day. Neither me or Ryan managed to be seated for desert and so it was kept aside for us and re-served with cheese which was a lovely touch. I had made some very specific requests to the bar with respect to wine for my dad and that was remembered all evening too without prompt. We honestly could not fault the service. The venue itself was stunning, the guests were all blown away by the transition from downstairs to upstairs. We want to acknowledge your patience with our indecisiveness on the indoor/outdoor seating with respect to the weather and also accommodating the singer both inside or outside. Finally, the beautiful touch of the embroidered dressing gown gift in our suite was just wonderful. It really was a lovely surprise when we made it back to our suite after the day.
