Description

Alton is a vibrant, rural market town situated at the gateway to the South Downs National Park. It is known as ‘Jane Austen Country’ due to its close ties to neighbouring Chawton, home of the Jane Austen House Museum. Alton House Hotel is a grand Grade II listed Georgian Building set it its own well-manicured gardens and within only a couple of minutes’ walk of Alton train station (just over 1 hour direct from London Waterloo), the town centre and the ‘Watercress Line’ heritage railway. The hotel has award-winning gardens that provide a truly magical setting for your wedding ceremony and reception. The garden provides a beautiful backdrop for photographs with its own magical wrought iron gazebo. The gazebo is a permanent structure and therefore licensed for marriage ceremonies so you can exchange vows on the lawn, with a string quartet playing softly in the background. How you choose to celebrate your wedding is a unique expression of your relationship. We understand the importance of ensuring that everything is simply perfect on your special day. From the moment you step into the hotel to the last notes of the final dance, we take immense pride in ensuring that it is everything that you dreamed it would be. Your wedding day requires careful attention, so we offer a dedicated wedding coordinator as well as an experienced team and friendly staff for you to consult with from the moment you book your wedding. The hotel has forty-three bedrooms in total so there is room for your family and friends to stay overnight and make the most of their visit to Alton. Ample free parking available for guests and visitors to the hotel. With lots to see and do in and around Alton, the town serves as a convenient base to explore the local area. With so many villages within a few miles of Alton, visitors can take in the breath-taking views and the rich heritage of the region while they are here for your big day.

If you are reading this you are about to begin the thrilling (and sometimes stressful) journey of planning your wedding, yay! Wedding planning can be overwheleming at times, but I am always here to answer questions, give advice or just listen if you need to rant. I have been a part of over 300 weddings and it is always a highlight of my job to see my couples say 'I do' after months or years of helping plan their big day. Good luck on your wedding journey! x
