The contemporary Woodland Barn provides an extension to the historic Century Barn, providing a modern twist to a traditional building. This will offer a brilliant opportunity for you to make the most of ‘something old and something new’ as we merge historic and modern buildings together. A stunning mezzanine viewing area, fitted with vintage theatre seats, provides the opportunity for spectacular wedding photography and adding a level of theatrical sophistication to your day. Woodland Barn enables weddings all year round, seating up to 155 guests. Lavender Lodge is our new and exclusive honeymoon cottage; a modern one bedroom house which is self-contained and provides the privacy and a relaxing atmosphere for your wedding party to get ready. Oak Lodge is versatile and suited to more intimate weddings. It's where breakfast is served and houses five guest rooms plus our alternate honeymoon suite. We also offer nine ensuite Shepherd Huts which create a luxurious glamping environment for those of your guests looking to get closer to the natural elements of Alfriston Gardens. Alternative accommodation is available in our modern Vine Lodge. The Vine has been designed specifically for Alfriston Gardens to melt into the East Sussex landscape and make the most of the Downs as a backdrop. Combining contemporary top-of-the-range features with nature through a living roof, it provides ten exclusive guest rooms.

It was the very first venue we looked at, and even after seeing a few others, nothing ever came close. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The Century Barn is stunning and full of character, and having so many rooms on site for guests to stay was a big bonus for us. Even on a rainy November day, the indoor space and the gardens were gorgeous, and we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day...We had our wedding at Alfriston Gardens in November and it really is the most perfect venue. It was the very first venue we looked at, and even after seeing a few others, nothing ever came close. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. I can honestly say I felt no stress on the day at all, if anything did go off course I was oblivious! They were happy to accommodate any decor ideas we had to really make the venue ours for the day. The Lavender Lodge is the perfect getting ready space and was so comfortable to stay for the nights too. Being able to stay there night before the wedding was really important for me so this was perfect. Janie and Nell went above and beyond to ensure our day ran smoothly. I can honestly say I felt no stress on the day at all, if anything did go off course I was oblivious! They were happy to accommodate any decor ideas we had to really make the venue ours for the day. Having children we really struggled to find a venue that was safe and secure without compromising on the space. Then we came across this stunning, private and perfect venue. Not only is the space amazing, the team are absolutely next level. No matter what was thrown at them they made our day perfect. Everything from booking, planning, setting up and on the day was faultless. The catering they use (Black Pepper) are also fantastic! We had our wedding at Alfriston Gardens in November. Having children we really struggled to find a venue that was safe and secure without compromising on the space. Then we came across this stunning, private and perfect venue. Black Pepper Hospitality was so accommodating with our wine and food with many guests saying it's the best wedding meal they've had! Janie was incredible throughout and ensured the day ran seamlessly. Anything we asked was never too much. The rooms are gorgeous, having our loved ones with us in over the weekend with breakfast together on the Sunday was a lovely touch.The gardens were the perfect setting for the outside ceremony we always wanted and looked absolutely stunning on the day. Janie was super attentive and helpful throughout our planning process, and was very flexible in making it the exact wedding we wanted. On the day, she oversaw everything perfectly. The venue was perfect for a large winter wedding as there was plenty of indoor space, but we were lucky enough to enjoy the beautiful gardens too as it was dry. The accommodation was super premium and it was so nice having so many of our friends and family to stay overnight.November 2023 and it was incredible!
