The Terrace is a romantic wedding venue in Melbourne, set in the most stunning location – Royal Botanic Gardens. This picturesque covered outdoor terrace with great views over the Ornamental Lake and delightful Gardens, caters to seated and cocktail receptions.

You can host a wedding at the Terrace year-round, with every season providing a unique backdrop for your event.

Ceremonies at the Royal Botanic Gardens are available in consultation with the Gardens team. Receptions at the Terrace start at 6 pm and conclude before midnight.

The Terrace can accommodate:

150 guests for a seated wedding reception
300 guests for a cocktail reception

Wedding Packages

The basic packages at the Terrace cover a sit-down reception and cocktail party. The Terrace package for the seated meal features:

Canapés upon arrival
Your choice of two entre, main with side and dessert available as shared platters or alternative drop-service
Tea and coffee service
Cake cutting and plating
Standard beverage package

The cocktail package has similar inclusions, with the difference in the meal. It features your choice of nine canapés, two substantial items and a dessert station. Packages can be upgraded with some premium beverage items and additional dishes.

The standard beverage package includes mineral water, soft drinks, orange juices, Terrace's choice of red, white and sparkling wine and beer.
