Set within Werribee Park, The Refectory combines heritage architecture, expansive gardens and contemporary dining, just 30 minutes from Melbourne. Host your ceremony, drinks and reception on the same estate, with the Mansion and gardens providing a range of locations for photographs.

Garden Ceremonies
Choose from a range of ceremony locations throughout Werribee Park:
- State Rose Garden: More than 5,000 rose bushes, flowering from October to April.
- Lemon Scented Gums: A secluded setting beneath established trees.
- The Lake: A garden setting overlooking the water.
- Bunya Bunya: Open lawn surrounded by mature trees.
- The Parterre: Formal gardens with Werribee Mansion as the backdrop.
- Silky Oak: A sheltered location with views of the gardens or Mansion tower.
- The Homestead: Bluestone walls, historic farm buildings and gum trees.
- Laundry Cottage Lawn: A smaller lawn suited to intimate ceremonies.
- Mansion Courtyard: An enclosed outdoor setting framed by the Mansion’s heritage architecture.
After your ceremony, guests can enjoy canapés and cocktails on the front lawn while you take photographs around the estate.
Werribee Mansion
Host your ceremony inside Werribee Mansion, surrounded by Italianate architecture and original period details. Your ceremony booking includes exclusive use of the main hallway, grand staircase, salon and first-floor landing.
The Refectory Reception
The Refectory pairs high ceilings, chandeliers and restored heritage features with contemporary furnishings and dining by Bursaria.
- Cocktail: Up to 300 guests
- Seated with a dance floor: Up to 160 guests
- Seated without a dance floor: Up to 180 guests
Courtyard Receptions
For an outdoor reception with a European estate feel, the Mansion courtyard offers a setting for long-table dining, framed by historic walls. Our team will work with you on a layout that suits your guest numbers, seating and dance floor.

But what really made it unforgettable was the team. Every single staff member was incredible, and Stacey… you are a superstar. The calm, the organisation, the way you made us feel supported and seen the entire day you honestly made the whole experience feel effortless. Not one thing went wrong and when there was a minor hiccup with our flowers at the ceremony location, Stacey jumped right into action fixing the situation and keeping everyone calm. Cocktail hour and the reception was unbelievable. Our guests commented on how delicious the food and the wine was and they loved the gelato.The day of the wedding was absolute perfection. The team were really lovely and incredible helpful with all of the rescheduling and honouring our original contract through all of that mess, which we were so grateful for, and the day turned out absolutely beautiful. We did go through quite a few different coordinators over that time, which led to a bit of repeating details, but that's to be expected over such a long, weird time frame. We were originally going to hWe had our wedding at The Refectory in 2022, after initially booking for 2020. It was a nice big room with high ceiling, it does feel slightly old but still have royal feeling to it. Foods were nice. Had scallops for entree and that was cooked well. For main we had either salmon or pork belly. I liked the salmon better, I think pork belly skin was a bit chewy, although meat was nice and tender. Panna cotta dessert’s appearance is very pretty, but taste was a tad sweet for me.Came here for a wedding and this time had the reception at the Refectory part.
