Higher Ground is a modern private event and function venue in Melbourne CBD, operated by the experienced Darling Group. This luxury wedding venue is in one of the heritage-listed buildings with extraordinary architecture. Higher Ground venue was previously a power station and now features unique industrial chic blended with lush greenery.
Wedding services at Higher Ground include whole venue hire or individual room rent. Available space for wedding celebrations includes:
- The Loft: Exclusive event space on the upper level of the venue, overlooking the main floor and mezzanine level, capacity: 45 standing, 20 seated guests
- The Whole Venue: Unique space featuring six interconnected levels around the original brick building; capacity: 250 standing, 150 seated guests

Everything detail came together so beautifully - the stunning setting, the warm and accommodating staff, the outstanding food and wine (that guests are still raving about). We owe many thanks to Philippa our event coordinator who was truly outstanding to work with - her responsiveness, planning and attention to detail ensured the whole day’s success. We held our wedding reception at Higher Ground in March ‘22 and it couldn’t have been a more perfect event. We had our wedding ceremony and cocktail reception here and could not have been happier with the process from start to finish. The events staff are extremely organised & personable. The food and cocktails were delicious, and those involved with looking after us on the night were attentive in ensuring everyone was having a great time.
