Fern Glen Forest Retreat is nestled on seven acres of lush, fern-filled rainforest in the beautiful Mount Dandenong Ranges. A tranquil river winds through the property, and several courtyards offer charming spaces for gatherings.
The Upper Courtyard is a spacious paved area ideal for wedding ceremonies or outdoor receptions of up to 50 guests. Wherever you stand, you’ll be surrounded by enchanting garden views and a backdrop of majestic fern forest – the perfect setting for unforgettable wedding photos.
For accommodation, the retreat offers five cottages with a total of nine bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to 28 guests. Each cottage is fully self-contained with kitchens, bathrooms, and wood fireplaces for a cozy stay.
Klara’s Studio, our romantic honeymoon cottage, features an indoor spa bath set beneath expansive windows overlooking the forest – the ultimate retreat for newlyweds.

It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We actually extended our stay by an extra 1-2 days by memory. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and it was two to a room with some having room to themselves. We did have one room locked up. We had whole house to ourselves with two kitchens and living spaces. Nice location, friendly staff, and came with 3 types of bread, croissants, butter and milk. Outdoor spa would have been nice but too cold in September!
